    Default Upstream Rate (Kbps)

I am having Home 500C+ Plan but my upload speed is too low, in fact in my DSLAM in exchange it has been set to 256Kbps which seems to be too low for this plan.

I want to know from BSNL BB Users those who have Home 500C and Home 500C+ Plan, to what speed Upstream Rate (Kbps) has been set for them.

You can find the same in your router/modem's Statistics -- ADSL Page.

    Here's Mine

Maximum possible for perfect connection is 63.5 Kb/s but it cannot remains constant as the download speed .
So it varies from 63.5 to 48 Kb/s and gives me an average of 57 KB/s.....

You are getting 57KBps upload speed because you have 512kbps upstreem rate. The user who have 1024kbps upstreem rate can able to upload at 100 to 110KBps.

I got 2048Kbps vs 409Kbps for the download and upload respectively and a test from Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test reaches 42 to 46Kbps .

There is no need to wonder. User gets their Upstream and downstream rate from the settings of the DSLAM.

DSLAM full name is Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer. It is used to allows telephone lines to make faster connections to the Internet.Your Exchange has the DSLAM. It is a network device that connects multiple customer Digital Subscriber Lines (DSLs) to a high-speed Internet backbone line using multiplexing techniques. It's also known as IP DSLAM, From where you get the IP 59 and 117.For Increasing the upstream and downstream rate not an easy way. You have to know the command line. For setting up the system software of DSLAM need to connect from the Console port.
Some DSLAM support GUI interface like your ADSL modem have. from GUI interface it's very easy to setup the settings of DSLAM.

Below is the DSLAM of Siemens

The above two Yelow Wire goes to Switch board from where your telephone line and the othres telephone line who are the Subscriber of the ISP has connected. You get the WAN signal from here. The white cable which is connected to the DSLAM is the Console cable and the port which is look like the LAN port some of them are used for the WAN and some of them are used for the Uplink. The Uplink cable has the 200Mbps to 500Mbps Internet speed.

    @metalhead2791
    Just try this.
    Download TCP optimizer from speedguide.net.
Adjust the slider to the maximum speedof your speed plan. say 2 Mbps
    Select Optimal values.
To check whether this helps or not
    Check speed at
speedtest.net BEFORE and AFTER the tweak/s.
You may at least get the U/.L speed shown in your modem/router.
Feedback positive as well as negative.

I mean some DSLAM support the GUI feture. From this GUI web console it's easy to setup the DSLAM settings. You cant log on to DSLAM from your home. You have come to Exchange and connect your laptop COM1 port to DSLAM Console port and If the DSLAM have the GUI feture support then connect your LAN port to DSLAM console Lan port.
But doing some tweak to your DSLAM you need permission from the authority, and I dont think they will give you.
