Try changing your DNS and see if it works.

    You can use these :

    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4

Go to network connections and double click the connection that is active and then in the new window double click on TCP/IP settings and you should get another window where the bottom two fields are for DNS.
You can enter these DNS entries there and click on apply/OK whatever it says.

OS windows 7: Modem WA3002-g4 wifi router.
    Recheck modem settings/access control page.
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...tml#post208783
    OR
    TEST:
Open TinyURL.com - shorten that long URL into a tiny URL
Post the website address with *.com
    Reenter shortened Ip address.
    see whether you can connect.

Open command prompt and give the address which you are not able to open and enter, check out whats the result.

I also suggest in addition to check the browser's security settings. If they are tighter, perhaps some sites are blocked. I generally try to keep Medium, medium-low and LOW for the three settings in IE8.

If you are in bridge mode, then you also need to set up manual DNS in bridge dial connection.
If in always on mode, then do as 'admin' suggested & then open 168.192.1.1 modem configuration page.
Look for DNS entries there. Delete if any & set the mode 'select automatically' or any equivalent to this as per your modem model.
One think for sure that this prpblem is due to your default BSNL DNS addresses. They suck while looking for .com pages.
When I came across Google public DNS, I immediately configured my connection with them. My browsing speed is noticeably increased. Try it.

    Address: 8.8.8.8 &
    8.8.4.4

    Download this tool.
    grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm

Run with your default DNS servers. Check whether where your DNS server address stands in terms of speed calculating .com/cached/uncached lookup time with respect to other DNS alternatives available.

In my case, google DNS comes at first place, then some other public DNS addresses & at the last or second last place, it comes BSNL's DNS addresses.

After 19 posts you should summarise the problem and tweaks done.
You have also reported that all of a sudden everything became alright on 15th Dec 2009. Post No. 10
Do a System Restore to that date if available.

If still problem accessing some web sites.
    Download this Browser and try
    K-Meleon.

Sorry to note , Your attitude to resign to your Fate !
and blaming BSNL in some towns in your District.

When you get BB connection you MUST access all
websites, like millions of other BSNL Broadband users.

Complain to the D.E of your Exchange or send an ONLINE
    complaint here
