    1. Go through Broadband How to topics.

    2. I used to use "wakeuponstandby." Search google. Freely available. Plus the technique demonstrated in this topic (schedule login).

    3. IMO, Utorrent.

    1) make batch files for bridge mode....use macro expert for pppoe mode.(tell me if u need the procedure)

    2) if u want to save electricity then use any software like wakeuponstandby.
this is freeware and easy to use.....google it......(there r also more methods)

    3) Utorrent is the best.it has in-built shedule feature.

also u should stop at download at 7:50 as it is the same case as the above.

also if u want then i can give more ways to dial automatically so that u can schedule in vista also...........

the method that i am giving is in W7...will work in vista too.

    to connect:-
    1) Open notepad and type there the following:-

    rasdial [connection name] [username] [password]
for eg. rasdial dataone myusername my password.

    2) Save the notepad file anywhere as connect.bat

    3) Schedule the previously saved file to run at 2:15AM with Windows Task Scheduler.

u can find the windows task scheduler in Start>All programs>accessories>System tools>Task Scheduler
    to disconnect:-

    1) Open notepad and type the following:-

    rasdial [connection name] /disconnect
    for eg. rasdial dataone /disconnect

    2) Save the file as Disconnect.bat

    3) Schedule the previously saved file to run at 7:45AM from windows task scheduler.

That's it schedule utorrent as said previously from 2-8AM......
    now it will download automatically.

    also
if u want then use auto power on and shutdown....this program is shareware but can wake up ur pc from hibernation and u can also schedule the files...

    yes..

i have a small doubt, if the connect.bat file was not succesful in connecting at scheduled time in one go; will it repeat the task again to make a connection. Note: i'm not rescheduling the task
i tried to explain interms of flow chart as

if conection doesn't happen ----> redial; redial stop ----> if connection successful

hope so my doubt is'nt vague

I guess you just have to set the redial after '1 second' in the properties of the dialer.

yes archer has cleared ur doubt!

just paste the following code in notepad and replace the connection-name,username and password with the real info(ur connection name, username, password)

    @ECHO OFF

    :CONNECT
    rasdial connection-name username password
if NOT %ERRORLEVEL% ==0 GOTO FAILED
    EXIT

    :FAILED
    GOTO CONNECT
Save it as Connect.bat and schedule this one batch file to connect at 2:15AM.

Also u have to make some connection changes like redial if failed after=1sec.
U can find connection properties in Start>Control Panel>Network and Sharing Centre.there at the left pane u will see and opition "Manage Network Connections".....click on it and new window will appear.....just select ur connection and right click to bring properties and change the contents.
See the image....u can find how:-
