Smile Internet Status is showing millions of send/receive bytes

My Internet Status is showing millions of send/receive bytes after 10 minutes of browsing. I just open 2 browsers and a messenger. After 2 hours the byte count reaches 90 millions and internet is disconnected. I get the internet again only if I disable and enable the network card and re login.

    Please help....:

    1.How you monitored the download/upload
    of data ?
    Bandwidth meter if used ?
    see graphically the activity:
    http://download.cnet.com/BitMeter/30...-10880320.html
    2.
    Mention modem/model/make/number. and tariff plan.
    3.
    whether problem was sudden.
    Suggestion 1:

(a)Go to Safe Mode with network connection.

    (b) Disable all applications appearing in Task Bar. ( Including AV program )
    Then connect to Internet.
Open browser and surf. for a short period.
    Start/Network/LAN/ properties
    Status.
    see the activity.
    Disconnect if similar problem.
    Suggestion 2:
    Press CTRL+ALT+DEL
    Open Task manager.
    Check applications active.

    Suggestion 3 ;
Run antivirus program and do a full scan of C:/ may take more than 2 hours.

    Feedback.

Go to Resonance Monitor(in task manager in Vista and 7) and click on the Network. Then see all the processes which are running in Network activity.
If there is something that is consuming much and you do not know that click on "End Process" there. I recommend this to use when you start the Computer and Internet .Wait and watch for 2 min. as there is no app. runnnig at that time.

By this you will able to know who is consuming your internet.

Try this, monitor for some time and feedback please.

ShaPlus Bandwidth meter - Free bandwidth monitoring software

You may use a good firewall. Full system scan may also help.

If you are not using any Antivirus then try trial version of Norton as It can able to remove all viruses.

What do you mean by 90 million,

    90000000 Bytes = 90000000/1024 KB = 90000000/(1024*1024) MB = 86 MB.

I recommend you to use a single browser as It`s cache will help you to minimize data traffic. The best one is to use Opera in turbo Mode and set its history to 400 MB and also set to check the images after 1 week. By this way you can minimize the traffic if you are using a limited broadband plan.
