Thread: Utorrent Settings for BSNL home 500

Hi guys can u all plz post me the best settings for utorrent in bsnl home 500 ? , last month i was using rapidshare and i was getting download speeds of 230kBps
constantly ,, now im using utorrent and i get only 140kBpx max . i have port forwarded, enabled encryption , increased the max no of connectons, can some one plz tell the settings regarding global max no of connections,no of coonected peers pre torrent etc ?? , im not able to get more than 150kBps maximum.

torrent speed depends on No of Seeders. Also Utorrent automatically manages settings as per your speed of internet and hence no need to change anything in it.

even if am downloading a torrent with very good seeders and a good seed ration i am not able to get more than 150kBps max

i heard new customers don't get good speeds.

Simple rules..

1. Select a healthy torrent for download.
2. Set global max to 1000.
3. Cap the upload limit to 10 kb..
4. Set the priority to high.
5. If everything done correctly u will get a max speed of 190 atleast!!(You have to wait for a few minutes initially for the speed to raise)

I'm also having similar problems with utorrent.....

i used this wonderful tutorial , gave me good increase in the download speed, how ever i was able to download only 2.5 gb a night ,, guess the torrent that i was downloading dint have good speeds,, i ll try a well seeded torrent and then give my reply soon

Ya, it's really a wonderful tutorial..... Great for both beginners and long time utorrent users alike...... Should solve many of the problems.....

I suggest atleast 4 torrents at a time if you are on public trackers.... That will make sure you get the maximum bandwidth utilization.....

ya but if i simultaneously download 4 files then guess nothing would be finish downloading in a night ,, may be all the downloads will be at 75%... it depends on the size of the files too.. gues we can download four divx movies a night , considering each movie to to 700mb

Right.... but if will just be shear waste of electricity and bandwidth if we give just a single torrent.... Even if all ends up at 75%, you can finish everything within some 3hrs the next day.....

ya i know.. i usually download 2 at a time ,, will give it a shot to download 4 at a time,, coz the next day morning i need atleast one download to be completed,, the entertainment for the day

lol... PirateBay is Public torrent. Private torrents are websites were you either need invite from a friend or you need to pay to create an account. Eg. desitorrents.com bwtorrents.com etc etc

Just google for private torrent trackers.....
You will come across quite a few....

However in private torrent sites you have to maintain a share ratio of 1:1....
Otherwise you will get banned....

Most of the private torrent sites are paid ones.... Still they open free registrations every once in a while.....

This is one site which can tell you when the registrations are open.....

thank s a lot , i got a demonoid account ,, still im not geting more that 150kbps max i dont know wats wrong .. when i used rapidshare i caontantly got atleast 220kbps .. ill download almost 4 gb a day, but its not happening in torrent

Try with 4, 5 or even 6 good torrents at a time dude..... Even then if you are not getting atleast speeds close to 200KBps, then there is problem....

i am getting the usual speed with utorrent !
i did no make any changes in utorrent like port forwarding **** and all !

u shud be really happy getting these speeds , its a private tracker ? ... i checked downloading ubuntu 9.10 in torrent , i was getting speeds of 215 kBps, does this mean that my utorrent settings are ok and if i get low speeds its only coz of low seeds ???

It must be a private tracker......

If you are getting 215, then it must be seeds problem in case of other torrents..... Just download say, 4-5 at a time.... Should be fine....

hey i downgraded to utorrent to 1.7.5 then i scheduled 4 downloads at the same time ,, n in the morning i saw that a total of 3.3 gb was downloaded,, pretty good i guess, also the torrents were not well seeded so im happy with these results. !!!

I have been using vuze with its classic UI for the last few days.... Getting around 3.5GB daily.....

wow !! if u know a link where i can get the optimum settings for vuze plz post it . . .

I haven't been able to do many tweaks with vuze.... Just got the basic settings right, installed speed scheduler plugin......
