Default Unable to set-up Wireless Router

I am trying to set-up my DLink DIR-615 Wireless router. The BSNL modem that I have is UT300R2U. The settings that I am using on the router are:

    Internet Connection type : PPPoE

    Dynamic IP

I have provided the correct username / password (the one that I use to connect to internet)

Also there is a setting of Connection type. the 3 options are Always on, Manual, Connect On Demand. I have tried all 3.

When I go to the Status page, I see that the router is unable to obtain an IP.

    Any guidance, help much appreciated

Please confirm your model number and run the wizard.
I am unable to run the emulator as CD is required.

    Default Still frustated!!

    Thanks for the replies

essbebe: The router model is correct (DIR-615) I will try running the emulator with the installation CD and let you know what happens.

deepmohan: I tried to follow the links that you posted. I am stuck on the very first step. I have now directly connected the UT300R2U modem to my laptop. The IP 192.168.1.1 is unreachable. I am baffled as to why I can't get to this!

There are three versions for Dlink Dir615 N300.
Difference matters only when FW update is tried. ( No need now )
    2. UT300R2U
reset the modem to factory settings. ( power on for 20 to 30 seconds )
    See these websites.
    UT-300R2U ADSL MODEM MENU

Confirm you are connected to Internet in
"Always On" mode ( Not "bridged")
with DHCP enabled in the modem.
