    @sugan12
    Modem 831 AII
    Im facing frequent disconnection problems

Are you still getting connected to Internet/ even say for 2 or 5minutes ?
    1.
    Ensure all PHONES are connected
    AFTER the ADSL splitter.
    2
Who did the configuration for your modem ?
    3.
Upload the ADSL page showning SNR ATTN etc at TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting
    and give the link here.
EXAMPLE: ( do not type http)
    http://i3.tinypic.com/6ss6a10.jpg
    4.
Do you use a "Dialer" UserID
    PW entered in computer window
    or
    "AlwayOn"PPPoE mode
UserID/PW entered in modem wan page .
    5
    In computer
    Start run type cmd OK
    New window
    Type ipconfig /all
Copy/Paste data here ( NO EDIT)

    6.
    Make an ONLINE complaint here.
    http://mis.bsnl.co.in/pgs/internet/pgwebregn.asp

    7. If your usage page ( Bsnl Usage portal BSNL Portal) does not show any activity for past 2 weeks, you can claim rebate for BB rent. Keep a record of all
    complaint docket numbers with date.

In the modem , where you have selected DNS

    if automatic Uncheck )
    enter 8.8.8.8 and 208.67.222.222
( google DNS and Open DNS)
SAVE reboot wait for 2 minutes.
    Test again.
    (2) recheck cmd to ensure these DNS appear.

    Feedback please.

GIVE LATEST SNR ATTN Mod mode etc.
    from
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...-firmware.html (Firmware)
Why you want the latest FW, if any ?

I find you haved started a new thread.
    continue in old thread,
    to avoid repetitions/suggestions/reports
    about your problem.
1.Try with another modem to confirm SNR improves,
    or
2.request a friend permission to test your modem at his
    location. ( preferably BSNL BB)
    3.You can use Dialer mode.

Noise Margin 5.9 Line Attenuation 30.5
    Get your line checked.

    Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR)

The SNR should be higher than 20 though anything above 10 is just enough. The Attenuation should be as low as possible. But if the attenuation starts going higher than 40 and SNR going down below 10, it is time to complain about the line condition to BSNL.

    Check the Wires

The leading-in cable (drop wire) from the junction box (DP box) to your house should be as straight as possible, should be of a single length without any joints. The wires should not be coiled anywhere and should be away from electrical lines. With these types of irregularities, i.e with joints or coiled or near power cables, your phone might work fine but the DSL link may not hold and work satisfactorily.

    Splitters and Parallel telephones

Never by-pass the splitter. The splitter does the job of separating the high frequency ADSL signals from low frequency telephone signals. If the splitter is not installed correctly, the broadband connection is likely to go down every time the phone rings. Any parallel phone connections should be after the splitter and not before it. The line from the exchange should first enter into the splitter’s Line jack. The phone should be connected only to the phone jack of the splitter. The ADSL modem should be connected to the modem/DSD jack of the splitter. A two way jack may be connected to this phone jack to install your parallel telephones. The wire leading into the modem should not be running parallel or close to electrical wiring.

    @sugan12

Just go through the image link given here, you will come to know how SNR Margin and Line Attenuation affects things.

    SNR Margin and Line Attenuation

Nothing to get afraid you will have to get your problem solved by yourself by visiting your concerned exchange.
