    Default Problem with NU usage.

Since BSNL changed its server settings from December 2009 I am facing a very peculiar problem. I use wakeuponstandby to hibernate my pc at 7.55. Because my utorrent client is not closed properly the connections that my router has setup for my utorrent remain intact and data keeps on coming until router is turned off. I can't turn off my router manually before eight because I leave home before that. I usually ask someone else to do it for me and they do it at their convenience. Every times I see my usage details I see about 100 MBs from 8.00 AM until router is turned off manually. I did not have this problem before dec 16, because only after a resync billing used to start. If the router reboots or utorrent is closed then all the bt connections will bw closed. I tried using Command prompt process kill option "taskkill /F /IM utorrent.exe" But utorrent remains in the system tray. I tried using Imrans Broadband helper to reboot my router, it didn't work. Even tried various .bat scripts but none of them worked. My modem is ut300r2u.

Why are you not using the scheduler facility in uTorrent? Downloading can start at 2 AM and stop at 8 AM, even though uTorrent is active.

Another thing you could do is switch to bridge mode and use the rasdial command to disconnect the modem/router.

if I use utorrent scheduler, and if I set it 8.00 (as there is no minutes option) the billing will start by then and i'll loose about 30 to 40 MB's. I can't use my modem on a bridge mode because we have frequent power cuts in our area. So when power come up rasdial wont' dial randomly. Only solution is to use a bat script to reboot my modem when wakeuponstandby hibernates my pc. If anyone has been successful in using a reboot bat script on ut300r2u please give me some clues.

There is a shutdown problem with my pc. Sometimes, after I click turn off, it doesn't turn off for good 10 minutes. I got a script to reboot my router on this forum itself which works. But it took a very long time to get at it. Thanks.

set ur PC time 10 min slower n turn off time synchronization. When your
utorrent starts downloading at 2 it will be actually 2.10.Like that u can arrange modem restarting disable enable NIC using imran broadband helper or shut down script.

my PC time is 10 min slow
    1.50 AM NIC enable
    1.57 AM Modem restart
    2.00 AM uTorrent starts downloading
    7.40 AM modem restart
    7.45 AM Shut down
I have been using this for months.I havnt experienced any NU usage prob till now.

No need of any software to turn off PC
Use this script in scheduled tasks to run at any desired time
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 00

You can just create a bat file to disconnect internet(if you are on bridge mode)
    Code:
    @ECHO OFF
    rasdial connection_name /DISCONNECT
    ping -n 5 127.0.0.1 >nul
    :CONNECT
    rasdial connection_name username password
if NOT %ERRORLEVEL% ==0 GOTO FAILED
    EXIT

    :FAILED
    GOTO CONNECT
You can power the modem from UPS na, if you have power cuts....
