    Default Modem freezes up

Since the past month, things have been going erratic. Firstly, when I switch on the modem, for the first few minutes the link keeps failing and it keeps reconnecting. For example, about half a minute after I switch on the minute and it makes the connection, I dial the account and open a site in the browser, and it works for another half a minute, after which the Link light on the modem goes off. Then it takes a minute to a minute and a half during which it keeps trying to connect. Once it connects, again for half a minute it works and the line drops. This happens four or five times in the beginning, and then it starts working normally. A long time back, this same problem had occurred, and Essbebe had suggested using TZ Connection Booster, which had solved the problem but this time around, even that is not helping.

Many times however, the line keeps getting disconnected, now and then, after I have been using it more half an hour. At this time, it will try to connect and keep failing, and finally after a few tries, it will be able to connect, but when I dial the connection, the dialer stops at the connection to WAN Miniport point. It will show the Link as connected, but it will not be able to dial up to BSNL, no matter how tries I make. I've also tried using the repair option in Control Panel > Network Connections, but nothing happens. The modem remains frozen in this position, and then I have to switch it off and turn it on again, and it starts working again. During the daytime, I could manage, but particularly since the past three days, it has been happening in the morning, during the free download time, and since I've scheduled the downloads to run from 2:15, they start and then stop (one time I woke up at 5:00 to find 127 MB had been downloaded and then it had frozen up :@).

Here's the SNR values and stuff:

I'll definitely have to go the BSNL guy now. It may take a few phone calls, since they never come on the first call.

I heard this thing about DSLAM port for the first time, what is it?

Outlander first set your ADSL mode to G.DMT
Your setting is G.LITE, Change it to G.DMT and then cheak the SNR value.
