Thread: Need help on my First 500C Bill. First bill showing Rs 1303/-

Hi everyone,

I want some help from all you people here regarding my first bill. I have used up only some 1150 MB for my broadband 500 C plan which was online on 12th dec. Till 31st dec, i had used only 1150 MB of the allotted 1.5GB. But the first bill is showing an unreasonable Rs 1303/- as the amount payable. I got type 1 modem on rent and over that i have paid Rs 500/- before getting the connection.

Please explain to me as to what can lead to this whooping miscellaneous facility charges of Rs 1375/-??????? Also, what is the accessory rentals which is 354/- everymonth?

By the way, i have the 20% discount for being govt employee also. I got the broadband connection on 12th december. So it is billed from 12th dec to 31st dec i guess.

Promotion of Broadband service – concessions to prospective customers
Concessions for a period of 90 days w.e.f 01.12.2009 for promotion of Broadband Service of BSNL to prospective customers.

1) Installation charges for provision of New Broadband connections are waived off irrespective of the Modem having been taken on monthly rental basis from BSNL or purchased by the customer of his/her own.

2) Security Deposit for Broadband (as applicable for the Opted plan) and Modem Security Deposit (in case Modem is taken on hire basis from BSNL) shall be taken in three equal monthly installments starting from the first bill.

The above concessions shall be applicable for New Broadband customers only and the offer shall be valid for 90 days only w.e.f 01.12.2009 .

All other terms and conditions currently
applicable to New Broadband applicants shall remain the same.

thanks for the additional information... That means that installation charges are waived off too. Then why did i get this bill?

It says misc charges, i can't understand what is it.. Please breakdown the bill for me.. what exactly are they charging me for over and above the montly bill of 500/- ?????

you have to pay me auditor fees Rs 500/==!!!!

Security deposit and installation charges for Landline telephone shall be taken from new customers as applicable for Local/STD/ISD

see you have not mentioned about additional calls apart from free calls also reduced from 175 to 120 calls say for 20 days

Sorry for posting the last message as i couln't view your breakdown of bill in your post due to browser problem.

As you have mentioned monthly rental of 180/- on landline, which is not applicable for 500C and 500C+ for which the monthly rental is Zero.

So, maybe they have charged for outright purchase which i will clarify with the customer care centre here.

regarding this w.e.f 01/12/2009......... i applied for this bb connection in october itself but it got activated only in december. Does this mean, that all these waivers are applicable to me since it got activated on 12th dec and not that i applied in october????????

And what are these service charges of 354/-??????? what extra thing did i use? BB 500C is Rs 500/- (landline rental free + 175 free calls (didn't exceed that)) + modem rent is all i am entitled to pay minus the 20% discount, isn't it?

I got the hard copy of the bill today and there is detailed bill description, luckily :-).

Here's for all of you getting 500C first bill, i had applied on october, so i don't get the waivers even if i got the connection in december.

1 X Broadband 500 Combo = This depends on how many days of the month you had the connection since activation.

1 X Dataone modem rental = Same as above.

Tel. connection deposit = 500.00 rs

Installation fee for broadband = 250.00 rs

Modem deposit = 500.00 rs

Security deposit = 500 rs

Additional usage for the month = "Variable"

So, if you haven't exceeded the limits of call and bb, you should get the first bill of around 1250-1800 rs. This doesn't account the "BSNL MELA offers" which give waivers on installation fee etc... So you should keep that in mind.
