Default uploading and downloading at same time?

Hi,I use homecombo1350 UL plan(512kbps).Whenever I run two torrents(One downloading and another uploading),I do not get the same speed on both of them. One time, downloading speed becomes high(50-55kBps) and other times the speed of uploading torrent reaches high. Why am i not getting max speeds on both the torrents simultaneously i.e.downloading at 50-55 and uploading at 45-50 kBps.Is it common?

Go to speedtest.net, perform a speed test and post the forum link here.

if its about movies and other popular stuff, it worth the investment to buy an account on file uploading sites like - rapidshare, netload etc, and visit the w-ar-ez forums for the links and then use a downloading tool like - flashget,
you will get faster speed than torrent.. and saves lot of time in managing downloads ( scheduling, queuing)..
most of these website charge about 50-60 Euro per annum.. I say - its worth it.

I don't agree with you, in torrent all stuff you get is free, why pay to something when you get it free? Don't download from warez sites anything it is full of spyware, viruses etc.

    MB/s or mb/s? Get it clear 1 MB(Megabyte) = 8 mb(Megabit)

Free - remember there is no "free lunch".
What I am talking about is from my personal experience.
    replace <rapidshare> with "rapidshare/depositfiles/netload/etc.
When I download from rapidshare, I always get best download speeds, torrents rely too much on # of seeds. Often leading to longer download time.
With rapidshare, you either download it fast or dont download it.

When I said Warez sites, I am talking about the discussion forums - that post links to the files uploaded on these file upload sites.

nothing, absolutely nothing guarantees that a file downloaded from torrent is more secure than one from these file upload sites.

In fact from my experience, I ended up downloading "junk" file from torrents.
These days anti-piracy organizations upload absurd files on torrents - to trap downloaders or simply waste time of these freebee seakers.

Do some reading, or have first hand experience.

As for my credibility - I have 3+ Terabyte download experience over a period of 10 years , have seen from 5 inch floppy drive to 16 GB USB drive ( or 1.5 TB external HDD) and currently hold ~3.5 TB of storage media

Started from tools like getright, download accelerator, napster, limewire, gnutella, and what not., you name it and I have tried it... and finally settled on warez-forums+rapidshare+flashget for over last 4 years.

Ok, so you have more experience than me, so I respect you.
But not everyone is willing to pay price for faster download, ok I will get file downloaded in 2 hrs on rapidshare & in torrent 4 hrs, who cares? when it is free.
I also saw 5 inch floppy, nowadays I have 32 GB Sony pen drive, 2 TB WD HDD.

    Lol,
my only point was - "if you can" it is worth it to pay for rapidshare. Those $$s you shell out are worth the time and peace of mind saved.
Its your choice whether you take it or not, but from my experience I am satisfied after shelling out those extra euros.

to give you an analogy, some time people end up spending hours and kms of travel to find out a 200 Rs cheaper deal.
