Default weird disconneciton problem .. again...

    hi

i am on bsnl plan 500 dlink 802 c [ppoe] [gdmt]

thanks a lot for the help from this forum .. now my connection is pretty stable..

bsnl people changed my line .. and my SNR VALUE is somwhere between 13-17 all the time.. and the conneciton is good...

but strangely sometimes.. even when ADSL light's stable and DATA
    light's blinking.. my connection drops..
when i check the modem page.. the SNR and attenuation values are
normal.... and then either i have to wait for sometime.. or if i restart the modem .. the connection will become normal ..

i cant complain to bsnl cuz the ADSL and data is active ... so i am
assuming its not a fault in the line .. is it my modem ????

happend again while typing this.. and i checked my paramters.. but everything's normal..

    DSL Parameters and Status
    Vendor ID: 00B5GSPN
    Revision Number: E.37.9.48
    Serial Number: 123456789abcdx
    Local Tx Power: 12.4 dB
    Remote Tx Power: 15.5 dB
    Local Line Atten.: 57.0 dB
    Remote Line Atten.: 31.5 dB
    Local SNR Margin: 11.5 dB
    Remote SNR Margin: 13.0 dB
    Self Test: Passed
    DSL Standard: G.dmt
    Profile: MII
    Tx Line Rate: 512 Kbps
    Rx Line Rate: 672 Kbps

    Framing Structure: Framing-3
    Trellis Coding: Enable
Power Management Mode: L2, L3 Not Allowed

    Config Data Up Down
    Intrlvd Fast Intrlvd Fast
    AS0(kbps): - - 672 0
    AS1(kbps): - - 0 0
    LS0(kbps): 512 0 - -
    LS1(kbps): 0 0 - -
    RValue: 12 0 16 0
    SValue: 4 4
    DValue: 8 8

as you can see the problem of getting freezing like this is.. when it gets connected again automatically .. the speed drops for 1.7 mbps to something liek 512 kbps ....but instead if i restart the modem .. the speed is around 2 mbps...

Happened again while typing .. so i restarted the modem instead of waiting for it to get connected again .. and the speed increased considerably
    Tx Line Rate: 512 Kbps
    Rx Line Rate: 1088 Kbps

    1. MODEM RECONNECTS AUTOMATICALLY

    2. MANUAL RESTART OF MODEM

is there a solution for this ?????

    1088kbps mean 1.1Mbps
then why your screenshot shows 1.50Mbps

Are you really lookig for your solution or you are joking.

    @indranil
dude....... i dont know why my rx rate is 1088 and spdtst.net result is 1.50 .... i am no expert in this....... thats why i am posting all these here....... got it ???

    Simply put .. i've got 2 questions...
    1. why does the connection freeze randomly ... i guess its not getting disconnected actually because the adsl light's on and data lights blinking .. its simply frozen.. and works perfectly again after a few minutes.....

    2. After a freeze up if i wait till the connection resumes automatically .. why does the speed go down to 512 - 700 kbps ???
instead if i dont wait for it to resume and .. restart the modem instead .. the speed is always above 1 mbps...

This is my problem...... and i am looking for a solution that will stop the freeze up ...

connection drops do you mean you are using the PPPOE desktop I mean the bridge mode.

Check when you are not browsing the net or downloding file from the interent in that time your DATA light is bliking or not. Remember for this checking you need to login to your ISP.

check this. and reducle D>l attenuation to less than 30 or 20. complain to CC BSNL or JTO. Say your telephone is "Noisy"

i am on ppoe always on mode..
and no .. the data light dosent blink when i dont use the net..

while downloading ... as usual .. the data light blinks very rapidly .... and sometimes in the middle of the download the conneciton freezes.. and the transfer rate goes to from 200 to 0 KBPS .. even then .. the adsl light will be stable and data light will be blinking rapidly .. but no data transfer takes place.....
maybe my modem's faulty .. what do you think ???

    @essbebe

i thought high line attenuation means low speed .. i was not concerned about that because in my case .. i get good speed ... will high attenuation cause frequent disconnections ?? i mean ... in all the threads i've read . SNR is what causes the connection drops... and not attenuation .. ( i am no expert obviously )

If the disconnection happens while dowloading the torrents, check the status after limiting the upload speed to 20 Kbps.

Data light bliking but there is no data travel through your LAN card its mean your modem is faulty. But before suspect the modem you have to check that when your download goes to 200KBps to 0 KBps at this time in 0KBps check your LAN card Link-ACT LED. Is it bliking like the DATA LED in your Modem. I ask you to cheak this because the DATA light only bliking when there is packets travel from your modem to your LAN card. If your LAN card Link-ACT LED not bliking when your connection goes to freezes but your Modem DATA light is bliking then your modem have the fault.

so the video got cut off in the middle ...and i had to reastart th modem.. .... why's this happening ???

right now while replying ... data led turned off ... and automatically reconnected after 2 minutes ...
