    Wrong email as Free Usage Limit Crossed

    This morning I got an automated email from the BSNL Customer care:

    ===============
    Dear User,
    Your current Broadband Usage has crossed the free-limit of 2.5 GB.Your Service details are given below

    Current-Plan : Home 500 C+
    Period of current plan considered : 01-JAN-10 to 31-JAN-10
    (the free-limit mentioned above does not account for pro-ration due to suspension, reactivation, termination & plan-change)

    Warm Regards,
    Customer-Care Team,
    BSNL Broad-Band Services

    This is a system generated mail. Please do not reply back to this email ID
    ===============

    But I'm not used beyond 2.5 GB. My portal statistics prove this by showing less than 2 GB (2038 MB). (Provided the portal is updated till date and time)

    The automated email came into my BSNL web mail.

    Please help, whether I should believe in the email or the portal. and can any one suggest me sop using the internet in the day time?

    Also tell if anybody faced this..

    Regards
    Aditya

    It is better not to use it any more. To avoid this in future, use

    ShaPlus Bandwidth meter - Free bandwidth monitoring software

    1.Probably, based on your average daily usage, a warning email has been sent to alert you.
    ( 2038MB in say 20 days average 100MB/per day)
    2. Datafox addon when used in Firefox browser also extracts usage from Bsnl portal/s and color code used to alert you about the quota limit.
    3.
    See the Shaplus meter readings at right side bottom. Not based on BSNL meters.

    can be programmed to disconnect 0200 to 0800AM.

    @ adi420

    What does your portal statistics say ? crossed or below the limit..
    I done auto forwarding of all email come to my bsnl email to gmail.

    @ essbebe

    I got this email on 27th 12:16am. So this is for 26 days.
    2038/26 = 2430 MB, which is still less than 2.5GB.

    Also I had similar problem like adi420, not regarding sms as exceeded limit, but
    got sms ( weekly usage alert) as done 1371 MB used on 8th of this month(Jan 2010), While portal shows actual data as 890 MB. Until few days it was wrong and corrected it self.

    @aditya_604
    out of thread:
    I done auto forwarding of all email come to my bsnl email to gmail.
    You can reduce the d/l usage by reversing above.
    email to abcd @gmail.com to OE or Outlook
    email client.
    Program OE or OUtlook or your email client to receive Bsnl emails .
    check usage.
    Then read the same in google mail..
    Check usage.!

    The usage was within limit. As I mentioned earlier it was a wrong message.
