Default quick question on Tx Line Rate

yesterday night during night unlimited ..... i was downloading some
    torrents

and this was the speed at first
    Tx Line Rate: 512 Kbps
    Rx Line Rate: 1344 Kbps

then the connection dropped and reconnected to this
    Tx Line Rate:256 Kbps
    Rx Line Rate: 512 Kbps

as the above speeds were low ..i restarted the modem and got this
    Tx Line Rate: 384 Kbps
    Rx Line Rate: 1344 Kbps

    my question is - why am i not getting a constant 512 - 2048 ??

what should i do to get constant 1.5 mbps plus during night unlimited

is there some setting that i could change so my modem wont connect below 1 mbps .. and will keep restarting till it gets that speed ??

i am on GDMT PPOE DATAONE 500c and Dlink 802c

Whenever this happens please check the Dynamic ip. We have no control over this.
    http://checkip.dyndns.com/

Also check the ANNEX mode . Select Annex A.

    @itsrijo
I read your thread and previous thread also. I can tell you some of the point from where you can get the solution. Your line speed is very mutch fluctuating. This is occurs because of three things. One is if your DSLAM port is not good, Second is if your Line condition is not good - you can notice noise when you receive the telephone receiver and Third is if your modem is not compatible with the DSLAM.

From your side you can test your line has noise or not by receiving your telephone receiver if your line is good then change your modem.

right now this is the status
    Local Tx Power: 12.4 dB
    Remote Tx Power: 15.9 dB
    Local Line Atten.: 57.0 dB
    Remote Line Atten.: 31.5 dB
    Local SNR Margin: 9.0 dB
    Remote SNR Margin: 7.0 dB
    Self Test: Passed
    DSL Standard: G.dmt
    Profile: MII
    Tx Line Rate: 416 Kbps
    Rx Line Rate: 864 Kbps

as u can see SNR is back to single digits....... but the thing is .. sometimes even with low SNR and same bad attenuation rate .. i get excellent speed......

gotta talk with the exchange people....AGAIN .

There's no audible noise in the phone .. i mean line's perfect.... no noise .. no disturbance .. nothing ......

i'll try with a bsnl modem .. and see if there's any change ...

well there was this discussion long time ago if i remember right.. bsnl caps the speed during NU so that everybody gets decent bandwidth due to the overload
