Thread: Billing on Broad band Day Usage

I have been using BSNL Broadband Home 500 Combo plan with usage limit of 1.5GB + 2 am to 8 am free. Further I am entitled for 20% extra Usage . I have used only 0.625GB in total & only0.533GB(excluding night unlimited for the month of December 2009. But during the billing I have been charged extra quoting Broadband Day Usage as 33869KB Units. Kindly clarify is there any limitation of usage of Broadband during day time and is there any rule that only for certain hours only Broadband should be used. I think I am eligible for 1.5GB usage for a month during the entire month in any day time.Please reply

There is no such rule. Talk with the accounts officer and negotiate the issue.

When did you actually get BSNL broadband? If you get it in the middle of the month, you wont get the entire free usage limit. You will get an adjusted limit based on the number of days for which you got internet.
Nobody gets 20% extra usage (as far as I know). If the person on whose name the telephone is registered is a government employee then they get 20% discount in the broadband fixed monthly charge and the broadband usage. i.e. if you used more than the free limit, you will be charged for only 80% of the excess usage. (I also came across a thread in this forum that mentioned that this discount doesn't apply for users of Combo plans)

Sir, I am using the Broad band connection for the past six months. As u said I am a Government Servant and I am getting 20%discount on plan rent. I am not clear about the extra usage of 20%. I think I am eligible for an additional usage of 0.30GB (i.e) 20% of 1.5GB(allowed bythe Plan).AS U now said that 20% of the charges will be given and not the free usage of 0.30GB/Kindly confirm this as I will be extra careful in the times to come.

You won't get 20% extra usage. What you will get is 20 % discount on your bill for broadband charges.

1. What is the extra amount you feel you will be charged? or already charged and shown in Telephone Bill ?
2. You have been using BB for six months.
When did you apply for the 20% discount ?
3.you check usage at the usage portal
data.bsnl.in ?
4.Only Rental charges 20% discount.
Also modem rental.
There is no "Bonus" data download !
Usage above regular quota for the plan
charged.

Check in your usage page any overlapping entries for day and night download.
Say start at 0100AM and ends at 0300AM
or even 1000PM to 0500 PM.
Take a print out ( 2 copies ) and give an application to A.O personally. He may average out the usage and re adjust the bill.

There is no such rules for the time.

Yesterday I have handed-over a detailed reply with the statement to the Accounts Officer in person. She has informed that the defects will be rectified. She has asked me to pay the bill before the pay by date. When I asked whether complaint may be preferred through e-mail and asked for e-mail ID to my wonder she replied that Accounts Officers were not provided with BB connection and as such complaint has to be given in writing. What a State of affairs:
Any one who preferred complaint through mail if yes what is mail ID
