Thread: Specific modem for Always ON ??

Hi friends i m planning to move to BSNL broadband UL1300 Plan,

I want it to be always on connection,
And i am a bit confused , while deciding which modem will serve the same.

so please guide me.


Also please tell me, which modem should i go for ?, i means there are 4 types i guess, so hich type is better or any specific company made is better ?

If you are using a modem now please mention the make.
Do you use a laptop computer ?
then choose type 2 or 4

Usually Port forwarding option may not be available in some BSNl supplied modems
( example UTSTAR300R2U new model )
this is usually needed by those using torrents download/s

I use Nokia Siemens C 2110. It is a good modem but do not have wifi. Apart from earlier day BSNL has reclassified the modem groups as Type 1 and Type 2. Only Type 2 modems has wifi. Better buy a Type 2 modem.

I dont have modem, i am currently using reliance wimax,

i will be using bsnl broadband on computer.
and yes port forwarding will be surely needed.
