hello alli have been using bsnl home 500c connection from the past year n i must say the experience has been mostly pleasant if not for the nagging problem tht has cropped up a couple of months ago..
ok first here r my details
a) modem - UT300R2U
b) i connect using the bridge mode.
C)now tht problem- i have been using this connection for the past one year and from when i first got the connection i used to get an average download speed of 230 kB/s all the time as i download only from the private trackers.. but around 3 months ago my down speed dropped drastically to 180 kB/s and has not changed ever since.. i want to know why this happened all of a sudden?
I have tried all the tweaks..tcp optimizer.. tcp half limit hack and even played around with the modem changing the mod modes from g.dmt to adsl2+ but no change at all
I am beginning to think that the bsnl ppl are limiting my bandwidth capabilities
One more thing tht got me wondering is that my friend who lives less than 1 km away has the same connection..and both of us get the connection from the same exchange.. n he had a problem from before tht his downstream speed was stuck 1024 kbps and he used to get a max download speed of only 100 kB/s from the same private trackers that i download from but from last week his speed has increased suddenly to around 200 kB/s max down speed all of a sudden and it has been staying consistent ever since.. and so has his upload increased proportionally to around 1132 kbps upstream
How is this possible that his speed increased while mine has decreased so much??

Plz help me guys !!
