Smile Bsnl plan change!!! Everyone pls read.

    Hi,

I have 500C plan right now but want to change to new home 1499 or home 1111 plan since i use frequently in daytime so need more download limit.

Pls answer few of my concerns. I have already read many posts on precautions in plan change and such.

First, i have to confirm it even if its 1st of next month where it is supposed to be implemented. It is understood that i have to apply in previous month to have it implemented in coming month.

Here one concern is, BSNL has already loaded me with all kinds of deposit fees till now (BB deposit + Modem deposit + Landline deposit), not to mention installation charges for both BB and landline!!!!!!! Have paid about 2500Rs in deposits and installations!!!!!!!!

So, now if i migrate from 500C to any higher plan, as i have already paid 1 month deposit for 500C, do i have to again pay 1 month advance for 1111 or 1499 plan? If i have to pay advance again, what will happen to 500C advance already paid.....

    Waiting for ur replies. :-)

Please check here. For higher tariff plans you have to pay addl one month's usage
amount now ( less Rs 500/= paid earlier )
    Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.
    Terms and conditions :
    * Security deposit and installation charges for Landline telephone shall be taken from new customers as applicable for Local/STD/ISD;
    * No security deposit for BroadBand Connections upto Plan 500 and ...............

    # Security Deposit for all higher Broadband plans will be equivalent to One Month Fixed Charges (but Max. Rs 5000/-).
    Consider Home 750 U/L 256 Kbps plan H24 U/L
if you are not interested in higher speed.

Sometimes the tariff plan is changed within two or three days.
You have to confirm it in usage portal regularly, before downloading heavily if the plan change allows it.

You need to pay only the extra amount. Ask the account officer to deduct your previous advance from the next bill.

Thanks for quick responses... Yes, its logically understood that i am obliged to pay 500Rs less but do i HAVE TO inform to AO and Other officers myself about this accounting of 500Rs already paid, or will it be accounted for as per BSNL policies itself?

Or else, i have to wait for the bill to arrive to see whether they have taken the deposit 500 rs less.

Essbebe, in the link for those plans, it says regarding deposit:

"No security deposit for BroadBand Connections upto Plan 500 and for CICs on bulk connections (>25) subject to an undertaking by CIC.
Security Deposit for all higher Broadband plans will be equivalent to One Month Fixed Charges (but Max. Rs 5000/-)."

Pls confirm if this 500Rs less will be accounted for automatically from the BSNL system or will i have to heckle for it??

When you ask for plan change attach photocopy of bill showing all the earlier deposits, and give it to Accts officer.

    No question of haggling .

Normally they will do it without intimation. But knowing BSNL it is not easy to commit.

    Hello guys,

Following my thread, i applied for plan change from 500C to 500c+ which gives me 1GB extra download limit. I changed it to 500C+ to wait for another month and see if there are any new plans from BSNL.

For 500C+ surely, i think and they informed too that there will be no extra deposit but i can't be sure. Will know only after the bill arrives. I mentioned in the application that i have paid all the deposits for the present 500C plan :-) Not sure if it'll be read fully though....

Hey, one more thought guys, i don't think there are enough tariff options for all kinds of broadband users. What do you think. Essbebe, can u open a thread or vote of some sort inviting new plan ideas from all users for BSNL. Maybe BSNL officers will take notice. Here are a few ideas from me,

    1) Night unlimited plans, i think the timings need to be changed. Like 11pm to 6am.

    2) Many more limited options can be had, like plans with affordable monthly rental like 600-700 Rs for 6-8 GB limit at good speeds and 1000Rs for 10Gb limit and so on at preferably 2Mbps (closest choice available is Speed combo 1111 at 15GB). Here is an advantage of these limited plans, the foremost being, being no night unlimited and obviously there is download limit, so there will be fixed use. I'm not a big fan of these download schedulers, even if they goof for one time due to some windows problem or system getting hanged and don't reboot the modem, there can be a huge bill!!!!!!!!!

    .
Very difficult with BSNL still unable to meter usage properly for Paid hours and free hours, if they overlap. ( almost 90% normal now )
Change of timings will throw the usage portal "out of gear"
6AM to 8AM is a very useful time to download.
    MTNL has 1200 to 0600 U/L period.
Airtel also have reduced the timings to 0600AM
These timings 0200AM to 0800 also suitable for VOIP Skype long conversations with U.S.
    ( time lag about 8 to 10 1/2 hours )
As it is, BSNL tariffs are lowest for similar
    plans by other ISP's.
Also Rural BB users are given BB at reduced rates.

Status Quo will/may remain for another One year.
Many may shift to 3G BB.

Ya, your point taken regarding night unlimited... :-)

But these limited plans can have more options and flexibility. You agree regarding different download limits like 6Gb, 10 gb and so on???????? They can have good speeds like 2Mbps since the download is limited. And i needn't say that they should be affordable depending on download limits.....

Hey, when is this 3G broadband going online? Will it be wireless only? or can they have on wired networks too? Still, BSNL being the first to launch it, i think prices will only come down when they see some competitor.
