Even the cordless phone adapters ( low usage ) I disconnect in the night. ( rarely replaced).
or can you say how long an electric bulb/or tubelight will last ?
( even though 1000 hours 5000 hours etc claimed by manufacturers)

    Depends whether
(a)you are sitting in an Airconditioned room

    (b) the company who made the adapter
Usually Made In China models. ( BSNL buys at Lowest quotation in bulk ! )

(c)The mains power supply variations in your town.

Switching off the modem power supply, to reduce the heat generated is worth the trouble.Once in one adapter even the outer casing melted due to excessive heat and continuous usage !

My first Adapter lasted for an year. It went bad due to high voltage during the rains... Now, this new adapter is running fine since last 8-9 months. It's turned ON 24/7...

Yes, I gave the details of present unit in the other thread which you linked in the previous post... It's a local unit bought from a local electrical shop.
