    Default slow speed

    hello people,
    for the past 5 months,i am having problems with my internet speed. ever since i got my bsnl connection in feb 2008,it has worked like a charm. never given me any problems. speeds used to touch 210+kbps easily. but nowadays,the speed rarely goes above 140. i have changed my OS from xp to windows 7. could that be the problem? or is there an issue with ipV6? another peculiar thing that i noticed is, when utorrent is downloading during free hours, the speed that is shown in utorrent is 140 while in the tautology bandwidth meter,the speed is shown as 220+. how is this possible? any help in this regard would be much appreciated.

    Set your upload to 15 KB/s and download torrents only from the private trackers.If you want to download from public then download 2-3 torrents simultaneously.
    Download TCP/IP opimiser.
    Set number of connection in utorrent to 999 and number of uploading slots to 4.
    Set your utorrent port to any number between 6969-6999 or 1 .

    @timelord
    Check your port speed from your router
    The download speed and the upload speed
    for good it should be 2048Kbps for Download and 256Kbps for upload
    anything upper value then this would be good.

    i have tried everything that you have suggested dudes. but nothing seems to be working. the biggest surprise for me is,everyday the data downloaded by me during the free hours is 2.9gb in utorrent. but when i check my usage on the BSNL site,it is saying that i have downloaded 3.7gb. how is this possible?

    It is possible.....
    You download about 3 GB na........
    Total data transfer = download + upload
    that also includes surfing and connecting with peers.

    utorrent consumes much speed for connecting between peers so I do not use it.
