    Default Beware - Long Post

Modem/router-Nokia Siemens c2110. Configured to always online.

    1. Earlier the link became established around the time Windows 7 loaded fully, and then it got connected. Now the first blink only comes after the system is fully started and the connection gets established after 1 or 2 minutes. I don't have any disconnection problem.

    2. When I was on bridged mode I used the BSNL DNS 218.248.240.208
    218.248.240.135
Now on the always online mode I can't use that DNS, but the modem is utilizing some other slow BSNL DNS. Why can't I use that DNS? So I am using Open DNS. Earlier on bridged mode name bench and DNS benchmark termed the BSNL DNS as fastest, whereas now on the always online mode they display completely different results whenever I check.

3.What is the difference between a modem and a router? Is nokia siemens c2210 a modem or a router?

    4. Is Comodo DNS effective and fast?

Thanks for the patient reading(I hope it was patient).

    2. You can still use Open DNS. Change in LAN properties

    3. Modem dials a connection and router creates a table which will divert you connection. I am using the same modem. It is a modem cum router.

    4. Use Open DNS

    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
