Thread: BSNL aiming 250,000 WiMax Subscribers

News from BSNL reveals that they have plans in progress that will give them at least 250,000 wimax users and this aim is for by the end of 2010.

Currently the BSNL wimax subscriber number is around 3000 users, which is not a lot and to reach 250,000 seems a long way, but BSNL assured that they will will this target by the end of 2010.

Wimax services were first launched in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh and another 210 stations which are spread across the North and East of India. Wimax services will also be launched in the more urban areas too which include places like Kerala and Punjab.

With big plans from BSNL they are ready to set 1000 base stations in some rural areas. But the main time to find out when BSNL will be able to achieve the target of 250,000 is when they set out the tariff rate.

I will migrate to a wireless connection if I get a good one.

I doubt if BSNL will achieve that target.....rather BSNL should concentrate more on landline broadband.
