    Default Help going wireless

Currently I own Huawei SmartAX 882 router which connects to my PC via USB.
Recently I purchased a laptop and wants to share my BroadBand connection b/w both the systems.
afaik to enable wireless connectivity with my laptop I have two options
    1) Ask BSNL guys to give me a wireless modem by replacing my existing. (I wonder what haggle that would be)
    2) To Purchase a new wireless router and connect it to existing router.

Can you please suggest me which option to choose (their pros and cons)

If you suggest the new purchase then can you suggest me which wireless router should I buy.
Also if you suggest replacement, then plz share me your usage experience with BSNL wireless modem (plz mention Type).

My usage will involve simultaneous internet access along with file sharing b/w PC and laptop.

    Thanks in advance.

Best thing to do is to buy a wifi modem from BSNL. BSNL employees will do the settings for you. If you buy a wireless router, BSNL won't be providing support. You need to handle it every time you face a problem. Also the cost factor is in favour of BSNL. A wifi router from BSNL costs Rs. 80 per month on rent or Rs. 1600 + tax in one time purchase.

Can you please tell me details regarding the kind of wireless router BSNL supplies. Will I face any service issues with BSNL router as its cheap compare to branded routers.
Although my current modem works great since last 2-3 years but I am not sure about wireless ones.

YOU need not have any apprehension about the Wi-fi router DNA-A211-1 supplied by BSNL.It works well.I got it during Aug '09 for my laptop.it costs rs 1600/-only.but works well.Whether it is taken on rent of Rs 80/pm or outright purchase BSNL provides tech support.IF u b uy from outside YOu may face problems beyond warranty period.further this modem an ITI product has provision fr fr 4 RJ45 ports too besides the wireless. It works on Broadcomm 802.11g spec approved by IEEE(USA).IT has a range of about 30 meters.but u will need to get ur wi fi modem encrypted to prevent unauthorised access by other wi fi laptops coming within range.this aslo will be provided by BSNL.What more do you want?

Please see this link for details about WIFI routers issued by BSNL.
Now seems another New model has been introduced.
SEM or ITI DNA A211-I reports not satisfactory.
You may need a software update from SEM site.
