If modem on rent you can exchange it.
Will be given 50% on total rent paid+deposit paid for outright purchase only of old modelUt300R2U.
    See FAQ45 under broadband.

    2. Confirm you have a desktop/laptop wifi enabled
to check the wifi settings in new WIFI router.
    Or
if correctly set ( new wifi router)
WIFI network name may appear in the phone .)

Get yourselves a modem from BSNL. They are good and BSNL will configure it to you according to the settings. For rent it is Rs. 80 per month or Rs. 1600 + tax for outright purchase.

    why is renting better?

since if i pay rent(rs 80 per month) for say 2 yrs i'll be paying it's actual price.

and which bsnl modem to select among these.

one more thing while using a wifi enabled phone....it will always show 'no web gateway reply'...to overcome dat problem...u have to goto router settings and remove da option of connecting to internet through username and password...then only ur phone will will work with wifi....for security..enable WEP security in router setting and set a password for dat...!!!

    Enable DHCP in your modem/router.
    Also UPnP if seen.
    Mentionmodem/router/wifi make/model etc.
    In computer TCP/IP Properties
    Obtain Ip address automatically.
