Thread: Internet Access Problem

Hi All,

From past few days my bsnl connection is giving problem with Internet. After connecting the modem it immediately shows broadband usage in Datafox Firefox addon. I can see bsnl page also by going to Show Records -> Active Month. It connects very quickly to this site.

But google and other regular sites wont connect. If I want to connect to google, Page Loading message comes for 1 to 2 min and then error message "Problem Loading with the Page" appears. Sometimes it connects quickly. I use torrents in night and I am able to get speeds upto 200KBPS. But in that time also I am not able to connect to internet. If I stop torrents for sometime and then try, same problem persists. My doubt is if I am able to get full speed with torrents then why won't it connect to other regular sites? At which point problem is coming (remember that I am able to connect to bsnl broadband usage site)?

I asked bsnl people and I guess they are clueless about it. Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

Mention your modem/model/make number.
MTU change to `1492 or 1480 may help.

As you have mentioned Datafox, your browser is FireFox.Do you have IETAB or IE corel lite add on installed.? Change over to IE in FF and try.

3. if you had not made any changes added new applications, use System Restore to an earlier date when all functions were OK.

4, Confirm your email client OE or Outlook is also working ( or Yahoo Messenger MSN messenger.)

My modem is bsnl typeI-ut300r2u. I use this for two systems but mostly only 1 system is opeational at a time (one system with lan cable and other with usb). In one system I use IE only and other system I use firefox in Ubuntu.

1.Desktop 1;in lan mode Ut300r2U IE XP OK ??
2. Desktop 2; USB mode do FF Ubuntu. Torrents work google etc do not open.

Modem settings should be OK.
3.Confirm you connect using a dialer or
Always On.
4. Anytime two computers tested for opening a web site at the same time ?
