Thread: Not getting Downloading Speed as stated!!

Hi Friends,

I'm having BSNL Home unlimited plan.I am not getting downloading speed as mentioned in the tariff.

Getting only 25Kb/s.


Earlier I had Home 500 plan where I used to get 65Kb/s and in night around 125-170Kb/s.

But this plan is pathetic.What should I do?

Help me please!!

Go to Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test, perform a speed test on two different servers and post the result.

Try TCP/IP optimizer from speedguide.net.

The speed you are getting is normal speed. UL 750 has a maximum of 32 KBps. Not on every site we will get this speed. Try a download from Microsoft and confirm your speed.

You should have posted this in the BSNL section.

Results after speed test are:

0.24MB/s download speed.

0.25MB/s upload speed.


How can you say that speed is 32Kb/s in UL plan?

They have clearly stated 256MB as download speed in their tariff.

Also check under Home 500 plan ,there also they have stated 256MB as downloading speed.But still one gets good speed as compared with UL pman.
Why?

I too use UL 750.

Basic Internet Mathematics

1 Byte = 8 bits

ie, 1 B = 8 b

256 Kbps = 256/8 = 32 KBps.

Hope it is clear now.

For 500 plans, speed up to 2 Mbps which is equal to 240 KBps
