    Post BSNL wifi modem

Hi guys i have the bsnl 500c plan at home. I am using a DareGlobal wired modem issued by bsnl. I was planning to get a wifi modem which i can either buy from bsnl or get it from some other shop. But the problem is bsnl is charging only 1600 for a router cum dsl wifi modem. all the shops i asked are saying it will cost around 3k while a router alone will cost abt 1700. I wanted to know if the wifi modem provided by bsnl can be used with any other connection say cable internet where i can use this dsl modem as a router alone...
    Thanks guys

Better purchase from BSNL. A wifi modem from BSNL can be bought at Rs. 80 per month rental. You cannot use BSNL modem with cable providers. But you can use it with other DSL providers.

BSNL provides modem + router, which is capable of providing wifi and ethernet based connection to one or more devices. You can fulfill you needs by buying a BSNL modem. But if you change you connection to cable internet, you may not be able to use this modem with your cable connection. But you can use the same modem to connect to another DSL provider (say Airtel).

Hope it is clear now. All you need to do is buy a wifi modem from BSNL and connect it in PPPoE mode.

If i change my connection i dont want to use the modem part of the router.. Say suppose instead of buying a dsl + router modem from bsnl if i go for a router alone i can use this with any internet connection as long as i have a separate cable modem or dsl modem with me.. i was asking whether this is possible with the modem router provided by bsnl..
