Thread: Bsnl Nokia 1600 wifi connectivity problem.

Hi all,

Hope my problem would be solved here..I just got my new BSNL broadband of 512 kbps connection with WIFI router with Nokia Siemsens Residential router 1600.

those people just came and home and they just connected to my laptop -- via ethernet card..it was working fine...

Now i am facing problems connecting it wirelessly..

so searched this forum..I didnt find any specific setup of this kind of modem this forums..but got some links for..wgxxx wifi router...it alsomost similar..so i set up the wireless confiuration for my modem.. too including security..

then my laptop showing there are wireless connections avaialbe...till this moment i was so happy..that i confugured everything correct..

Than i tried to remove ethernet connect tion and tried to coonect to wireless connection..I named it as..mybsnl: since i have securred WPK setting..
it is asked for key and i gave pre shared key..

the moment i click connect.. laptop showing erroor emessage.."count not connecto my bsnl..wireless assoiciation failed due to unknow reason "

even i tried with open (that i unsecured network) it does not work...

But when connecting same modem through wire..ethernet card..net is simply working. fine..

I double checked the wireless settings in modem 192.168.1.1 everthing seems to be fine according to instructions in this forum..

When i connecting through wire..broadcam device is coming network centr..
when i try with wifi mode..then no device islisting there...is this any mistake..

Am i doing something wrong in setting up wireless connections..

Somebody told me to set "automatically obtain ip and as well dns option " for Lan settings and wifi settings ( is this true ) currently they are with this automatically obtain option only...

Whats wrong with these..any ideas..the purpose of taking wifi modem to browse wirelessly but...it not allowing me to do..

SNR margins shown 30 30 is that ok..

Router hardware board and menu pages may be similar. Try unsecured connection first.

2.Post ipconfig /all
for wireless connection.
Check in WLAN network settings
top box wlan card
Configure . Check enabled. etc.

Nokia Siemens Modem Model CZ TJM86004 Residential Router 1600 supplied by BSNL problem:
This modem was supplied by BSNL, India the provider one year back. It was ok till recently, when suddenly it has started to malfunction.
Most times, nowadays I have to jack my Cable direct to Modem as wireless is malfunctioning. Repair doesn't always "repair" this condition.
Wireless sometimes works sometimes it doesn't. On quite a few occasions it switches on when I have kept Wireless switch ON when I power on my Laptop... Then it works until I power off...Am unable to move my Laptop to any other location in the house & work on wireless.

modem/router menu pages will be same. confirm.
Some links give step by step instruction and also screen shots.

Post statistics adsl data screenshot ( jpg picture )
