Default When will plan change take effect?

Today(15th Mar) I have posted Plan change from H500C to 750PLUS. (Actually i had to convince the customer care guy that 40kBps is okay for me). The customer care guy says it'll be on effect from next month and I'll get this month bill as per 500plan. But my friends said it was effect within shorttime and their bill was 750 on that month itself. So What to believe?

For the past two-and-half years, My life was going smoothly with 500C + Auto PowerOn and shutdown + IDM Scheduled Downloads + BitTorrent Scheduled Downloads. But for past two months, my browsing usage exceed a lot and I get 800Rs per month bill. So decided to go for unlimited.

Now I want to make an Uploader for filehosts like mediafire and rapidshare. So I need unlimited as soon as possible to start coding. Please tell when will my UL plan change be on effect? Do I have to check any bsnl page frequently?

ur plan will change next month only. until then u will be in 500C only. even i too applied plan change from 500C+ ---> 1350UL+. so even though u get speed according to new plan ur plan will change next month only. so beware of cheap bsnl tricks.

You can check in data.bsnl.in. shows as Provisioned.
(with 14digit usage portalID and PW)
In U/L plan usage may show as 0 for each day.

There has been a problem with metering of data transfers with BSNL. My normal usage would reach 2.5-3 GB pm but for the last two months am getting billed for 4-5 GB

But this month, the metering seems to be becoming regular.

If not, even am shifting to 1350PLUS

    @Noisysilence
Check meter readings for overlap of chargeable time and free time.
Users normally switch off MODEM at about 0155AM and restart at say 0205 AM
same way at 0755AM and 0805AM.
    This is done using schedulers.
If you find overlapping entries A.O will calculate on Average basis and give your free D/L.

FireFox Browser with DataFox will show your usage in staus bar.

    In ideal conditions
24 hours of D/L with (upto)512 Kbps is same as
6 hours of D/L with upto 2 Mbps plan.
