Any modem that supports DSL will work. Just make sure that VPI/ VCI is 0 -35. That is the only setting you need to care about.

Thats rightly said by ^^^dilip , any DSL modem will work with BSNL just need to configure it the BSNL way, hope you can do that.

thank you very much guys for the quick reply....i tried earlier settings option
on net gear to configure...but the net connection status was showing "not connected"....few things : my bsnl connection is done by ethernet...
in router setting option of net gear, two options are available ...by default it is PPP over ATM ...so should i change it to PPP by ethernet ?
also the ip/ dns/subnetmask default set to " automatically detect setting " or do i need to make it as static and enter the values...if values then wt values do i need to feed in....thankyou

    YES PPP/PPPOE then enter userID/PW
the ip/ dns/subnetmask default set to " automatically detect setting "
leave it as it is. If you want to change , then
    DNS 8.8.8.8 and 208.67.220 220 subnet 255.255.255.0

    Mention your Netgear modem model/number.

    Still problem
    Copy/Paste ipconfig /all data:
    Procedure:

    Start Select RUN
    Type cmd
    OK
    New window opens
    type ipconfig /all
