    Question 4 Easy Questions!!!Help plz!!

    Hey whatsup buddies!
    I Got net 18days ago have Home500.
    I have 4 simple questions
1)Someone posted thread like in night unlimited you cant download more than 1.5GB ""in one night"" then usage beyond 1.5 gb is chargable IS IT TRUE? i am scared about that!
(i know i asked this que before but i want confirmation!
another reason is in past three days when i go beyond 1.5gb net stops responding and only solution is rebooting modem
2)My friend told me that in SIFY/hathway pc's(not sure) you can access any computer through lan even if they are not connected to lan cable is it true?. If yes then Is there same thing for BSNL?How to disable it?
3)When i connect net and check status it downloads something. i disabled all auto updates like latest antivirus,audio/video players. even right clicked on icon-change firewall settings-Unmark all exceptions, What shuld i do???
NOTE:- IN night unlimited i know thing about rebooting modem on 2am and again on 8am I KNOW THAT.DONT TELL ME AGAIN.i always work on net at 3am to 6pm so no tension!
4)net disconnects manytimes and DSL light of my modem blinks wtf is wrong?
THANKS in ADVANCE!!!!Hope you understand my English!!!

You can download as much as you can during night unlimited. There is no limit of 1.5 GB.

Use Zonealarm + Bitmeter. Bitmeter will show if there is any parallel download and Zonealarm will tell which program is using internet.

Post your SNR and attenuation values.

Yes. No need to uninstall your antivirus. You can try your firewall. Most of the firewalls show which program is accessing internet.

    Check your usage at
    BSNL Portal
with usage portal ID ( 14 digits)and PW password NOW>
( get it from exchange , if still not given to you )
Summary ( total usage for the month less free NU ) should not exceed 1.5 GB or 1536 MB for FULL month.
If it exceeds this limit you have to pay
    at 80 paise /per MB .

Having continuous data transfer without any rhyme or reason is a common headache for new users of braodband. I faced the exact same problem. I had shaplus bandwidth meter installed and everytime i logged in, the bandwidth would be eaten by some continuous data transfer, i got nearly 250MB usage the first day without even downloading anything!!!!!

My solution, use latest Comodo internet security, its totally FREE and go to FIREWALL tab, and there use "Stealth ports wizard" and chose the last option, ie., stealth all incoming connections. And now all your ports will be closed for any outward unauthorized access.

Another advantage of comodo is that you can view all active connections, and you can terminate whichever ip connection that is showing data transfer which is not initiated by you.
