Thread: broadband usage portal miscalculations

i have been using bsnl night unlimited for a couple of years now but never had anything as such happened.i mostly use between 11 pm till 9 am .
had complained about it but had this happened to anyone before. if yes did u get it resolved easily.

and ya is there any software with which i can shut down my router at a specific time. tried few desktop shutdown utilities but many does not seem to work on windows 7. tried the famous imran's utility too but that too does not work on windows 7.

You need to reboot your modem a little after 2.00 am and a little before 8.00 am. The problem you mentioned is so common that we get at least one query per week. Just talk with the accounts officer. Take a print out of the screen shot you posted and show it to him. He can fix the problem once convinced.

hi dilip the Auto-connect Download scheduler PC-Gyaan utility was tempting to try out.. So I downloaded it but the mention of username and password in this utility suggests to me this utility is meant for bridge mode broadband connections. Unfortunately am in PPPoE mode as Dad, me, mom and sis all use the same broadband connection via our laptops and home PC.

Is there some way whereby I can cofigure this application so that it works for me even though am in PPPoE mode because this utility looks more neat than imran utiities?

dilip there is sth called "Always on" mode in this utility. Is that another name for "PPPoE mode"? ANy idea?

Yes. Always On mode and PPPoE are same. I have not used this utility. Found somewhere else.

Both are PPPOE!
Better to say "Dialer" mode or "bridged"
mode. when you enter ID/PW externally
'AlwaysOn'' PPP/PPPoE when USERID/PW stored in WAN page of modem.
Your router seems to be WA3002-G4
and file UT300R2U/WA3002-G4 of this program may work.

Download your modem reboot modules ( Always On users only)

Note: Download x64 modules for Windows 7.

* UT Starcom: UT300R2U and WA3002G4
or x64 version
* Huawei : MT880 or x64 version
* Huawei : MT882 or x64 version

Note: Just modem reboot modules alone isnt the solution, even the always ON users must have auto-connect main software to run these modules at scheduled time.

I have du meter which gives hourly, daily, weekly updates of the bandwidth consumed. So no problem.
