Are you getting range in the room or not even in that room?
If not even in that room at means your Wifi is of and turn it on on both in PC and Modem.

Are you in very disturbance area or using microware, they affects the speed and range of Wifi..........

That means u cannot able to connect.................

    Do this:

1.. Got to http://192.168.1.1/wlsecurity.html or just http://192.168.1.1, enter username and password "admin", "admin" then goto wireless and then to security

And see the password or set it.

as you want and when connecting, give that password to your PC.

2.. If it is signal problem,
Go to http://192.168.1.1/wlcfgadv.html or http://192.168.1.1 and then go to wireless and then to advanced options and then set:

Try if problem exists then reply soon...........

No i don't think there is anything related to traffic in Wifi.
u have to just make sure that ur wifi is not hidden.

    Also follow gaggan's steps.

And also try making wifi extender.

Try my second step, and see what happens................

Try to place the modem router at a high place in the house and in the middle of the house.

    Welcome

    But be sure to feedback.

also try that when u access wifi u be on first floor and router in on ground floor.that way signal strength increases as wifi signal has to only pass one roof

and also if there are windows near ur router then its recommended that u open the windows and go to the next floor to access wifi.

    Copy/Paste:
    ipconfig /all data
    Channel 6 or 11 preferred.
In Network settings page check the ethernet card "configure"
    advanced settings.
    What is selected ?
WIFI signals are "LIne of Sight" type . change posiition of unit (Antenna) from straight to parallel mode and rotate for max signals./
confirm antenna is detachable to add better antenna.
