Thread: Automatic redirection to motive.bsnl.co.in problem!!!! HELP!!!!

HI

I am from bangalore karnataka. From last few days i have been automatically redirected to motive.bsnl.co.in
.. even if i type Google.com.. it will take me to the above website.

I am completely frustrated with this problem as this will happen with me atleast 4-5 times a day... Even their lousy customer care people dont know anything about this..

Just imagine your are making some payment through credit card on some website and while that process is going on you are being taken to motive.bsnl.co.in this BS website. It has happened with me twice i was making payment for railway tickets online and this happened. Although i got my money back after few days but this is a complete headache.

As it was taking me to that website again and again .. so i gave a try to that software on that website... viz.. self care software.. ( this software is basically for noobs who dont know how to configure their modem ). But still i gave it a chance and did everything that it said me to till end. For a moment i thought this will now solve my problem .. but same problem is happening again. I just dont understand what this illiterate people at bsnl want from me.. why are they forcing me to install this piece of crap. And also their self care software which was supposed to provide some sort of remote support to me did not install ... it said some error occurred while installation.

I even asked their customer care about this software.. i thought that if they are going to provide me remote support from this software they gotta know something about this.. but again same old illiterate people their dont have any clue about this software that their company is forcing me to download by repeated redirection..

I have finally taken following steps to solve problem but all failed to solved the problem... please suggest me some way in which i can get rid of this problem.

1. I uninstalled and reinstalled my browsers. ( all of it... viz.. firefox.. crome.. internet explorer)

2. As above failed to solve my problem .. i then changed my dns servers to open dns.. both on my modem ( WA3002-G4) settings page and on my network setting on my pc.

3. above two did not work... then i reset my modem to factory setting and changed to default dns of bsnl which i got from customer care which is 218.248.250.139/218.248.250.141.

4. Above three failed to solve.. then i changed dns to google dns 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4.

5. Scaned whole pc which avast pro 5 and spyware doctor and malwarebytes antimalware .. they did not find any infection..

6. scanned pc with hijack this software and got it analysed on its website.. but nothing found ..

7. format my entire hard disk and reinstalled my windows 7 64 bit ( which is genuine purchased from Microsoft)... EVEN THIS STEP DID NOT SLOVE MY PROBLEM .. WHICH HAS MADE ME TO WRITE ON THIS FORUM FOR SOME HELP..

ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED . THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Option 1:
WHY all this trouble ? !!!!!
You could have UNInstalled the Application.
Unable to test , as in Chennai.

probably this is meant for 117.xx.xx.xx abcd @ bsnl.in.



Option 2 :
Start run type cmd Ok
type ipconfig/ flushdns
again type ipconfig /renew.
Give ipconfig /all data here.

Option 3:

Delete/qurantine the application from Startup menu.
Download AnvirTask Manager Free.

Option 4 :
Send an online complaint to Bsnl Bangalore. with copy to All India complaint site. links if required.

I have just sent a complaint to Bsnl Bangalore with copy to All India complaint site.

And by the way this software is dumb.. its the same one which comes with new bsnl connection.. this is the same one found on my bsnl cd to configure modem and make all connection correctly.. this sw is no big deal..

and forget about remote support thing that they promise with this sw as their customer support people have no clue regarding this..

BSNL sucks when it comes to customer care..

Since today morning I am automatically getting redirected to bsnl.co.in. I have got my modem re configured. I am located in Maharashtra circle but the home page is getting redirected to bsnl karnataka. AVG detects 2 file type Objects and SDK type Core X3310/ZTE.exe:/upgrader/FwUgd.exe multiple rentime compression aspack,peco in Temp folder of Local Settings. Despite removing these 2 objects by AVG the problem continues. Can Somebody help

I have even formatted my hard disk and reinstalled windows.. still i am getting redirected to motive.bsnl.co.in. So the problem seems to be something different ... i have figured it out yet...

I have not received any reply from their side regarding the email i had sent.. i have sent my email to all of the important persons in bsnl... around 14 people.. almost all whos email i could find on their website.. still i have not received and reply from anyone of them...

I too from today starts redirecting to that site, I just do what they said. And thus problem solved.

I also tried to install that software.. but it is incompatible with my windows 7 ultimate x64 .. it always end up with error... ( error -8) .

So i could not install that software... and basically that software configures modem. So i can do that manually to. So what if i did not install that software.. i have done all the settings that that software does..

And their so called self care software does not install .. it ends up with error -8. i even asked their customer care about this.. they do not have any clue about this software itself.. forget about the errors i am getting..

And i do not understand why bsnl is forcing us to install this software.. i do not see any meaningful changes in my system or the services they give me..

I am disappointed by them... if they wont reply to my email within few day.. i am going to file a complain in consumer forum .. as this has caused me problems while i was making online payments with my credit card and while that payment process was going on they redirected me to above website.. this has happened two times till date.. i am recording every calls i make to customer care.. so that this would make a strong case against them in court.

If they solve my problem.. i need not do the above..

The question is, how does this bsnl stuff pops up without even logging to their site.

Please mention the browser
you use. IE8/FireFox/Chrome/Opera/

Also from which site you got redirected to Motive site.
Ensure your OS is updated.

Today i got redirected from following sites...

1.google.com
2.farmville.com
3.economictimes.indiatimes.com

only three redirects today...

i dont know what technology they use to redirect me... i have reinstalled my window, i have reset my modem to factory settings, i have changed my dns from their dns to open dns both in network settings and modem settings page, still no luck.. this happens with all browsers.. it has happened on crome,firefox,internet explorer,opera,safari.... with me.

if it redirects me from general sites like above ..i dont mind.. but when it redirects me from online payment sites ... it frustrates me much...

I will share a funny incident that happen couple days back... i was browsing through online stores in windows media player 11... and guess what happened same motive.bsnl.co.in page appeared there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was shocked how this could have happened.

I think they have set their servers to automatically do this .. thats why i think it can not be resolved from my side.. it has to get resolved from their side..

If anybody knows where is their server office from when all the networks are maintained in bangalore please do let me know.. i would like to visit them personally.

If you want zero re directs, change your DNS to Open DNS or Google DNS.

Its happening with me too from yesterday, irrespective of browser, DNS as well as OS. Checked using Firefox/Chrome/Opera, in Win XP as well Kubuntu, using OpenDNS/Google DNS. Nothing works and BSNL keeps redirecting to motive something crap to download their self care automatic configuration software (which is none of use for me). It happens 3-4 times i a day. Too annoying..

doesn't work. I was using Google DNS itself when it happened for first time.

Download the software. Then may be it will stop.

creepy bsnl people..........this problem has started troubling me!!!!!!!!.........I tried dnsflush it doesn't work for me..........very bad thing i will not install the software and i am in hunt for the soultion.......

I did download it but guess what, it doesn't detect my modem as it is supposed to be! It doesn't even work on Windows 7.

I have marked the option 'Warn me when site tries to redirect or reload'. That too works but at the hood, BSNL is still trying to redirect to that site as firefox has warned me two times since morning about it.

Even I'm also getting this re-direction . what is this 130 MB software download. what this will do ?

I'm not worried about re-direction though .I still can browse in my chrome browser.

This software is for those, who cannot configure their internet settings. Personally, I would suggest that rather than downloading this software, you can ask your problem in this forum itself.
But if you want to waste your time downloading 130MB go for it.
This re-direction will worry you when you have to make online transactions, like the OP of this thread. Nobody will like to have his/her money gone and. not recieve the product

How to block Motive web site ;
Options :

In IE select Tools Internet options/ security restricted sites.
enter the web site address. Motive site will be blocked.

4. Feedback . From which site you got redirected to this "Motive "
Give two or three web sites.
Was it a POP UP message ? Block POp Ups

2. I blocked the motive site using Comodo Firewall.
3. I have scanned using avast, malwarebytes etc. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate.
4. I got redirected while browsing-
(a) Gmail
(b) MSN India
(c) Microsoft Store.
It was not a pop-up, instead it redirected into a whole webpage but inside the same tab from which it was re-directed.

Anybody checked with Divisional Engineer. May be they can do something.

I cannot get this redirection, as my Ip is 59.xx.xx.xx
and mostly users with 117.xx.xx.xx may be affected ,
and also
the download is meant for Karnataka users.

In Modem used under Maintenance Tools
check whether Tr-069 client or SNMP boxes are enabled.

keeping track of the discussion, and when proper
data is given, i will take it up with Tech Bsnl.

I never had this problem. My IP is 117.xx.xx.xx. Yes. It seems it is happening mainly for Bangalore users. I remember a similar software available for download some 6 months back. I got 200 KBps speed while downloading and it was not charged. May this is the same software. When I tried, it corrupted my DNS, had to change in back to OpenDNS.

The redirection happens at the DNS level.
Change to Open DNS > change the DNS option of your network setting from Automatic to specified DNS and indicate the Open DNS settings there.
