Check your LAN Link Act LED. Is it blinking continue when you dont browse the Internet and dont downloading the file. If the Link/Act LED on your Lan side continue blinking but you dont using the internet ( remember for this cheaking you have to log in to your BSNL ISP ) then your computer has virus which is using the bandwidth of Http protocol.

How do I log into my BSNL ISP?

Did you edit the Access Control Page ?
Now different. ( there is no significant change in modem/router data in other screen shots)
    WAN settings are missing.
    From my Post No 22>

    Your router settings are Ok.
Enable in access control page WAN side
    ftp and http.
Apply/Save reboot wait for 2 minutes.
    Feedback.

When you use PPPOE from desktop by using User ID and password for using the internet it's called log in to your ISP

Check the step mention above in my post.
Or if your see your pppoe connection on your computer's Taskbar after log in to your BSNL ISP it will continue ON with blue in colour if there is some virus activity.

This BSNL is strange! I am damn sure that nothing is wrong from your side neither anything will get resolved on its own (if you are the only one in your area facing this problem). But I believe they will keep their promise and shall resolve it after two days (taking days for solving minor issue is the usual working style of these peoples). Patience is the one thing BSNL customers often require.

I didnt change anything but the tech guys changed it. I think they removed WAN (wireless network if I am right?) by selecting some option cause they asked me if I use Wireless service and I said no.

I dont think there's any viruses because the LAN light isn't blinking, its constant. Tho I havent tested this yet really. What is the pppoe connection called in task bar?

Tell me about it.. while its a good service but the management isn't all that great unless you actually go to the office everyday and call them a million times a week to get it done asap. I just hope this issue gets resolved SOMEHOW by weekend or else its going to suck majorly for me.

NO. Disabling Wireless has nothing to do with this access control page.
    try again.

Test it, and when you login to BSNL by using User ID and password, after successfully sign in to BSNL the PPPOE take place in your Taskbar area ( where the Time shows to your computer )
Check it is continue Blue in colour when there is no use of internet.

For this test you need Windows XP Operating System

Well, I am no moderator nor a star member, but I think you have posted a thread about this problem and have been answered by some expert members. Please do not repost the same question in multiple threads.

I can guarantee that due to undersea cable repairs the download/surfing speed will be slow till sometime around 1st-2nd May. However, if you download torrents or files from servers based in India, you will get full download speed. For a detailed discussion about this you should read the following...

http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...y-evening.html (Dead slow speed since yesterday evening)

    Well said, Andy.

But there is some psychology here.

People get frustrated and try to post the same problem in multiple threads hoping that their post will get better attention.

I guess you are right...As for my own experience, I am a newbie in this forum BUT I have benefited immensely from suggestions and advice by expert/members in a matter of a few minutes. Truely my experience has been wonderful here. I guess new members will realise this in a few days...

    Unhappy

Hi, i'm new to this thread, i've read the solutions that all have posted, i have the same problem as the thread says. But let me describe.
My net connection is a BSNL 512Kbps plan and am using a WA3002G4 wireless modem.
The problem i am facing usually builds up in the afternoon time. The web pages open very slowly/ sometimes never open up itself.. i've tried cleaning the cache, different browsers, Firefox, Chrome, IE.. but still face the same problem.. The download speed though is very good.. constant 60Kbps with torrents..
When i did the speed test once before, it said the ping time is too much or something like that..
I think i have messed up something in the ACCESS CONTROL settings area of my router.
Can you help me with the optimized settings for better web browsing...?
I have also used the application called TCP/IP config or something.. (Sorry, i deleted it don't remember the name.) to optimize the connection.. It made some changes in the registry, but not of much help...
Someone please tell me the optimum settings for my router.

I understand that it's very late to post now on this. However, I registered just to make an entry here. Am from Bangalore using Tikona Internet. I must say that the service is great. I too am/was experiencing the same problem. But I noticed something very interesting. If I set my download (direct) to start as soon as I boot my pc, am getting full speeds. But if I happen to pause the download and resume in some time, the speed is thrown back to low.
