Thread: Rapidshare,megaupload etc speed is so slow,why

IN PLAN 1350+ UNLIMITED 512 Kb SPEED


I CAN DOWNLOAD YOU TUBE VIDEOS USING IDM AT FULL SPEED LIKE 90KB TO 120 KB (MAY BE BSNL DOUBLE THE SPEED THIS MONTH).BUT WHEN I DOWNLOAD FROM RAPIDSHARE,MEGAUPLOAD,HOTFILE ETC USING EVEN IDM I GET AROUND 30KB/S AS FREE USER.TILL MARCH I GOT FULL SPEED FOR ALL THESE SITES.FROM APRIL,IT HAPPENS LIKE THAT.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS

IS THERE ANYTHING THESE SITES GIVE SLOW DOWNLOAD SPEED FOR FREE USERS.

OR BSNL REDUCES THE SPEED TO THESE WEBSITES TO CONTROL THE AMOUNT OF USAGE.I DON'T KNOW.can u help me.anybody has this problem especially from this april month.i get 1mbits speed for this month,but download speed for rapidshare etc like 256kb plan.help me,thanks

Yes they give slow speed o free users. You will get speed of about 0.6 times the speed of your internet. That you are getting. I too get 90 KB/s in my 2 Mbps plan.

Try to download the files form Megaupload instead of Rapidshare as Megaupload gives great speeds for free users also.

not only rapidshare, megaupload,hotfile, or storage.download from all these websites are very low like 256kb plan.it happens esp from this month even bsnl doubled the speed.the only thing i enjoy this double speed for youtube downloads using idm.but to download softwares ,movies from forum through megaupload,rapidshare and all other websites,speed is so slow like max 35-40kB.but got 90-120kB FROM YOUTUBE VIDEOS USING IDM.i got 60KB from these websites till last month march 2010.IF IT IS RAPIDSHARE OR MEGAUPLOAD SITES GIVE THIS SLOW SPEED FOR FREE USERS,THEN NO USE TO HAVE 512Kb unlimited 1350 plan .so this low speed from these sites,not from bsnl,i want to goto 256kb unlimited pan,what do u think friends?i googled,some peoples told these servers r overloading because of large downloads by people,may be they will sort out these problems in a week.i don't know which one is true.ok let me wait till this month,then decide to change to 256kb plan or not.thanks for your replies.

I have noticed higher speed during the night and it the day it drastically falls both browsing and download.

Stay in that plan, that plan is great.
Use Flashget to download from megauploads. I get about 175KB/s from megaupload and only 90 KB/s from rapidshare in my 2 Mbps plan.

You can use torrents to download stuffs from internet like movies, games instead of rapidshare and megaupload.

Well, I have BSNL 500 plan (upto 2mbps) and frankly this month I have got great speeds downloading from Rapidshare/hotfile/Megaupload (speeds of upto 250 KB/sec) irrespective of the time of download i.e either day or night(when its unlimited download). I get those speeds as free user as well. Try using the premium links where you get top speeds for downloading.
As for youtube videos you can use a software called Bywifi video accelerator. Can't post the url, you can google it.

The best part is that it accelerates the video buffering atleast 3-5 times the normal speed and it also simultaneously downloads the videos to a folder for viewing later, from where you can watch them using VLC media player directly i.e there is no need to change the file extension/rename or anything.

I think that depends on your speed and line quality. I have managed to download a maximum of 2.5 gb at free hours, but that's just me. I am pretty sure there are others, who are masters of tweaking and have downloaded more than that. What speeds do you generally get at free hours?? If its upto 2mbps, then you can download as much as 3 gb BUT it would also depend on the server load and download speed. Try downloading from fast servers like rapidshare/hotfile/megaupload, and try some premium links where you can download at top speeds.
You should also wait for some expert answers to your question.

WOW!! You have made my day!! Bywifi uses a lot of CPU memory and that was the only thing I disliked, but now I am sure to give speedbit a try...Thanks for sharing..

Please use torrents to download stuffs rather than rapidshare as you will not get good speeds in rapidshare with free account. If you really want to download from hese sites then use Megauploads rather than rapidshare.

Use private trackers to download torrents like demonoid. and only download that torrents that are very much seeded.

Use Flashget instead of IDM.

Change your DNS:
Open properties of your connection.

In IPV4 go to properties.

Change DNS as you want .......
