    WELCOME TO IBF!!

To increase ur speed u should see the ratio of Seeders and leechers.

Also check if ur port is forwarded properly.(only if in PPPoE mode)

Try TCP optimizer from speedguide.net too.

PPPoE mode is always on mode in which ur modem dials a connections thus u can disconnect only with switching off modem.Ur net will always be on in this mode.

    1. Type your external IP in the address bar and try.

    2. Start > run > cmd > ipconfig/all, post the screen shot.

Change the values in LAN properties as

    IP 192.168.1.2
    gateway - 192.168.1.1

Go to What Is My IP Address - Shows Your IP Address and see ur ip address and note it down.instead of 192.168.1.1 open that 117.xx.

    Then try gaggan's suggestion.feedback

    Here is my data:

    Status: SHOWTIME
    Mode: G.DMT
    Type: Interleave

    Downstream Upstream
    Rate (Kbps) 2048 512
    SNR Margin (dB) 14.1 19.0
    Attenuation (dB) 59.0 31.5
    Attainable Rate (Kbps): 3584 1100

Tell me what to do now.

Your SNR is low and attenuation is very high, call BSNL to check your line as there is problem with your line.

Your SNR and attenuation values are poor. No wonder you are getting disconnections. Get your line checked.

Get your line checked by the line man. Ask him to remove joints and use a single cable without joints.

    Default Help !!!

I am using 750 UL plan but when I download videos from yahoo, the speed shows around 15 KBps sometimes even 7 KBps but when I checked it on speedtest.net and dataone.in , the average speed is around 55 KBps.

What could be the reason that I get extremely slow speed ?

PS : I get normal speed in some few sites.

    1. What is the speed you get on YouTube ?

    2. Which download manager do you use ?

    3. Try speedbit video accelerator.

Speed of Youtube,Metacafe video is between 40 - 70 KBps (Confirmed it through "rackeys live broadband usage meter")

But yahoo, dailymotion video, it reaches below 15 KBps.

What could be the reason that I gets such low speed in some sites ? Is there any way to get the same speed as youtube ? like proxy, bypass, dns etc...

I do not use Download manager.

Does speedbit video accelerator make any difference ?

    Reply please.

Must be a problem with their server. If you are getting 50 + in YouTube, there is noting wrong on your side. Speedbit video accelerator can increase the speed to some extent. Try it. It is better to use a good download manager. A good download manager can help you attain maximum speeds.

Free- Download Accelerator Plus (DAP), Free Download Manager (FDM) or Flashget Download Manager

Paid - Internet Download Manager (IDM), Internet Download Accelerator (IDA)

Of all these, IDM is the best.

    Feedback.

Use speedbit video accelerator to accelerate video bufferings and downloads.Use Opera browser as it offers maximum internal buffering speed for online videos.

You are right, the real problem is server.

Thanks for suggesting Download Manager, I just installed IDM, will utilize it later whenever it requires.
