Default which modem should i choose

As in my previous post i stated that i m thinking to get a dataone connection, now no reason is left for which i stop myself from choosing that connection as i have read newspapers stating that dataone is going to upgrade its plans (in terms of both speed and data limit) that too at the same rate as previous.

i have brought the dataone registration form but i m really confused because i dont know which modem should i choose, plz clear my doubt by telling me. do modems make any effect on the speed of internet connection? there are four types which bsnl is providing(plz refer the link):

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

i wont mind investing 2000 Rs. if type 4 is better in performance.....i have one computer only at my house so i dont need networking and all.....also suggest me if its better to buy a from market rather than purchasing it from bsnl....if yes than which model is best and whats the price. thanx...plz help me....thanx in advance.

if the local BSNL exchange has Huawei SmartAX MT841
either as Type 3 or Type 4 modem (pls enquire before
filling the form) then I 'd suggest to opt for it . if it is
not available then ask if Huawei MT880 or UTSTAR
UT300r2u available . you can take any of these two .

if BSNL cannot provide MT841 or MT880 or UT300r2U
then I'd suggest to buy a Linksys or Netgear modem .
