Thread: How to change the MTU value in nokia siemens sl2_141

I'm using the nokia siemens sl2_141 modem given by BSNL and I want to modify the MTU value.Can somebody guide me to do that ?

Try in the WANpage of modem where you enter your USERID/PW for "PPP/PPPoE" Always On connection.
If you are using "Dialer"( "Bridged") mode
( enter UserID/PW in dialer window of computer )
This page will not appear.
Default value 1492.

What is the reason you want to modify MTU?
Default usually 1492.

thats what I want to check. my tcp/ip analyzer result showing my MTU value as 1460. I wanted to modify it from router not from registry.Thanks.

If in ANY /modem router menu pages option to CHANGE MTU MSS is not available ,how can you change it there ?

Then you have to Change the Firmware version to get this menu item.

MTU is changed only if some web sites are not accessed.

1)I'm also confused about that.

2)Firmware is provided by my service provider so I guess playing around with that will not be such a good idea.
