Thread: Configuring bsnl modems in bridge/ pppoe mode quality of service(QOS)

I had this doubt for a long time. while configuring bsnl modems in bridge/ pppoe mode there is a checkbox to enable QOS(quality of service). but we don't enable it. as far as what i've read in theory qos improves adsl link performance. so why don't we enable it. is there any cons.

Please improve your "Quality of Posting".
Just give the link with size in KB around 110 KB now. No need to insert the Picture.
If you give it as Annexure a thumbnail will be shown.
Everytime this thread is opened I lose 110 KB ( on limited plan )
Also scrolling the page left to right is another annoyance.
A layman may not respond to your query, and those who like to respond ,know where to access this QoS. menu item.

2. practical positive way, would have been,
you enable it, see the difference in your internet connection speed etc and give
feedback here.

hey man i'm very sorry. but there is no edit icon in my first post so i couldn't edit it. in other forums the pic resizes to fit the window but here it doesn't. moreover the subject title has changed from just 'Quality of service(QOS)' to 'Configuring bsnl modems in bridge/ pppoe mode quality of service(QOS)' . i don't know how. anyway i'll try it out myself and reply.
