Default adsl lights glows on and off

    Hi friends,

I see the since yesterday morning, the adsl light glows solidly for 2 mins and again within a span of 2-5 mins it glows off,

we all know that if it glows solidly only there is internet connection right, what might be the cause for this? I am using

bsnl broadband. Its happening frequently since yesterday, adsl glows solidly, blinks for sometime later after 2-3 mins, then it doesnt

glow. Please help me with this. is it something related to my system? when i called the bsnl official, that time, adsl light

was so solidly glowing that they have gone without resolving this issue. I am not able to access internet properly because of this.

    thanks

Did you change your plan or something?
This happens when guys at other end are making some changes.

The same problem happened to me once when my IPTV was being disconnected. Suddenly at 11.00AM the ADSL light started blinking and refused to get constant.I had to call up someone and only when he rebooted the modem the light blinking stopped.

He told me that when data is flowing in the modem it gets stuck when their is a change or upgrade at the other end so the light keeps blinking.
I dont know whether its correct or not but thats what he said.

Most important your telephone is working fine?
If the telephone is fine then the problem is with your modem.

If not then theirs a fault with your line.
Try to reboot the modem and check.

This means your line is alright.
So now either theirs an issue with at BSNLs end or with your modem or your spilitter(ADSL inline filter).[1.Try connecting your modem directly to your phone line without the spilitter.]
Mention the model number of your modem so someone using the same can also help you.

Post SNR and LA values, their maybe a fault due to poor values.

If issue not resolved still then rebot your modem.
Search for a button on your modem(reset button).
Once all this things are verified at your end register a complain mentioning ADSL malfunction.

tech123 is right, post your SNR and attenuation values. To get them, type 192.168.1.1 in your modem, ID and password as admin. Go to the menu page. You will find the values there.

Default phone line only connected without splitter, but stil problem persists

    dear friend,

SNR - is downstream is 28 and upstream is 24 [DB]

LA -downstream is 17 and Upstream is 4. [DB]

I have tried connecting the phone line directly to the modem without using

splitter, even then, this is happening, it glows solidly for 2 mins and again

within no time, it turns off totally. Please help me.

Is this the problem of my modem? I am using dsl-502t modem[dlink]. If i

change my modem how wil i be able to change its settings again? what should

I do? where exactly is the problem?

Check your computer for viruses and malware using any reputed Internet Security suite. (Kaspersky comes for around Rs 550 for 3 user license at retail outlets).
The same thing was happening to my friend, and it showed a windows error box as some "d23456.....***.exe" etc. I installed KIS, ran a deep system scan and Updated Wndows (XP Professional), his ADSL yellow light on Nokia Siemens C2110 became stable. Before
If that doesn't work, call local BSNL broadband cell and relate your problem of limited connectivity. I think the toll free number is 1504

(Also I opened my friends Junction Box(the box where the telephone cable first runs into and changed the connection from "PARALLEL" marked slot to the one marked "LINE" and securely tightened the strands to it, which were initially very loose.)
