    Default Bsnl Broadband billing confusion

    I just received my first bill for broadband. My plan BBG 250 got activated on 25th march 2010. I came to know on bsnl site that the users registering before 31st march would be given 15 days unlimited download.

    I was shown chargeable units as zero till 15 days from 25th march i.e. till 8th April. From 9th april the usage started to show as countable. Still i am charged for some 419 MB of excess usage in the month of march which is rs 377 in my bill.

    The plan amount and charge for modem are prefect. But why did they show usage as 0 for 15 days they should show actual usage. By this i assume that i have been over charged for my usage and i should come under the free download offer. Still they have charged me.

    Please Advise.

    Did you get 14digit portalID and Password from Exchange to check your BB usage at http://data.bsnl.in.
    What is your billing plan?
    1st to 31st or 16th to 16th?
    Take print out and show to A.O

    Thanks for the reply

    1) Yes i have the 14 digit portal ID and password given at the time of installation
    2) I am regularly checking the usage from the portal
    3) My plan is BBG250 startup plan
    4) My current bill from broadband is for last 7 days of march since it got activated on 25th March

    I had approached the A.O. but did not got satisfactory answer. I also showed the print out of my usage showing 0 for 15 days. Still they are not able to give any perfect answer. They just say that file the excess billing complain and our technical team will look into it. So i have filed the complain with the offer document and all the usage print-out's attached. Lets see what the officials investigate.

    Normal conditions :

    In the usage portal page on top
    the last column will show
    "Chargeable units less Free night usage )
    say 700 MB
    for 25th March to 31st March , your local
    billing Dept must have deducted 33 MB per day x7 days = 241 MB
    you have to pay for the difference. But not now.
    Para two:
    if the Summary shows 0 MB no question of payment for March.
    and against Daily data last column will be 0 KB
    All NEW connections were offered free download for the first 15 days. Your A.O may not be aware of this.
    please give feedback.
    if you pay bill after Due Date some surcharge is levied.
    Hope BSNL issues you revised bill at the earliest.

    I totally agree with you. I should be what you have written in first para. But when u see the attached pic we find that chargeable units are 0. This is shown till 8th april in my usage i.e. for 15 days.

    I assume i fall in what u have written in para two. The A.O. is unaware of this offer. Exactly i wish the issue clears till my pay by date which is 29th April because these people says that it takes 10-15 days to investigate the complain . What i feel is to wait for reply till pay by date. If i dont get any reply i will pay the bill as they have said that if u pay your bill before then u will get that amount credited in your bill if found faulty.

    My presumption was correct.
    Try to meet the Senior A.O and settle the matter. and inform him you have made an ONLine complaint

    wait ..... searching link . Select In grievance "Excess Billing "
    Give STD code. Be brief.
    Give the link to usage page. posted here
    Only 180 characters allowed.

    But here in Vadodara, Gujarat there is only one A.O. which i met yesterday before filing my complain. He just said that go by process, file the complain and we will investigate.

    As mentioned in back of the bill, I will call the public grieviences officer at A'bad if i did not get satisfactory answer.

    Send ONLINe complaint , if CC fails!
    If the bill was for Rs 10000/= can you pay for their mistake!
    For any remedy/compensation written records
    are needed.
    Get receipt for all your applications.
