Hi everyone,
My BSNL landline and broadband was dead since 7 days, since i tried it at first, portal shows usage till 16th april and the next usage in portal is on 22nd april. I lodged a complaint on 16th itself. The line was down for 5 days officially as in usage records. But actually the landline was dead since 15th night till 22nd afternoon. So, can i expect a rebate from them? I have 500C+ plan now.
Will i have to inform them about rebate or will they take it automatically in the bill?
I found this source on the internet:
"BSNL Corporate Office issued a circular to give necessary rebate for prolonged interruption in BB services. Since the BB faults are monitored centrally by Circle Office at GM level on daily basis, such interruption will be viewed seriously, at the same time customers should not be penalised.. Hence, in future, there is no need to customers applied for refund for non performance of BB services.. heither to such rebate has been provided only to the Landline Bfone services...now the facility extented to BB services also..
1) the rebate will be number of days proportutionate to Non working of services and should be more than 3 DAYS..
2)the rebate will be granted on fixed mothly charges both for limited and unlimited plans of BB services.
3) for limited the free usuage will be restricted to number of days rebate granted.
4)the rebate in the fixed monthly charges should be granted by the fiedl units on their own initiative without waiting from the customer's request.
5) the officer in-charge of BB services inthe exchange /units should forward the necessary information of customers whose services are in prolonged interruption more than 3 days to AO (TR) of the Area, well before the billing details are finalised in the system (billing software).

Is there anyone having a first hand experience over this issue? You are welcome to enlighten other members
P.S: It has to be said that this time, since the problem was a little complicated (very old wires used still ), BSNL did take a relatively long time to resolve it and i had to visit bsnl office 2-3 times myself to request timely response. But however, it took a downtime of 7 days i guess, a considerable amount of time for not having a broadband service![]()
