    Broadband Usage Check:
    Intro
    Most users depend on Bsnl portals to check their usage, and get
    frustrated, when the site is not accessed and data is not up to date.
    Better to keep track of Usage , with some Bandwidth meter( mostly dependable) and adjust surfing/download pattern.

    1.
    Try these FREE b/w meters.and keep one or two connected ALWAYS..
    Some have provision to disable recording data during NU timings.
    (a) NetWorX
    (b) Tautology Bandwidth Meter
    (c) Shaplus meter.
    (d) Net meter etc.

    2. Ip 59.xx.xx.xx ( use same userID password)
    Users of @ dataone seem to have no problem and check usage,
    by enabling the link given on top in web site ( BOOK MARK )
    (Also with Add on Datafox with Firefox Browser.Being
    developed for Google Chrome . Six usage portals available.)

    3. Ip 117.xx.xx.xx(A new 14 digit ID and Pw Password required)
    more facilities, like SMS warning,selfcare sites, available.
    Basic web site is scroll message updates for
    http://selfcare.sdc.bsnl.in for Hyderabad users.
    http://sefcare.wdc.bsnl.in for Maharastra users ( still in development )
    http://selfcare.edc.bsnl.in for some towns in Orissa.

    4. A facility to send SMS to cellphone is also available.
    But mostly users complain of False Alarms !

    Get Service At a Land Line Subscribers May Get SMS alert service Pl. register your mobile number
    Land line subscribers are requested to register their mobile no. (BSNL or Other operators) to get alerts for bill raised , payment acknowledgement, Broad Band usage, fault booking and clearance etc. At present this facility is available for the subscribers in the following Telecom districts, which are being billed from BSNL’s new billing system.

    # Bhubneshwar, Bhopal,Balasore, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Hassan, Kodagu, Jammu

    you can get the usage details on below link(updated)

    selfcare.wdc.bsnl.co.in/irj/portal

    click on existing customer link fill the details and then you will get password on your mail mentioned in the filled details.

    BSNL PPL will first call you for verification of your mail ID and then will send you the password.

    BSNL Customer Care Portal

    when I try to register at above link,it says BB user id is invalid or BB is not activated.

    is it different from user name of modem?

    modem works with that but registration fails.

    any ideas?

    The user ID and password you use to log in to internet.
    2.
    For modem it is usually admin admin
    3.
    data.bsnl.in your 14digit portal id/Pw used.
    4.
    In selfcare sdc etc You register with own userID.
    password wil be sent to your email address.
    5.
    Check correct selfcare site for your location.
    6.
    Check Post No 1 also.

    Did you try example abcd12345@ bsnl.in ( adding @bsnl.in )
    while modem runs on that
    .
    2.
    Presume you mean you use a dialer and enter USERID and PW in
    computer window. or entered in WAN page of modem.
    3.
    Confirm your ip address is 117.xx.xx.xx and not 59.xx.xx.xx

    yes in WAN page.

    1) Customer Id/Unique Id: Enter your Customer Id/Unique Id present in the printed telephone bill. Click on the question mark icon to view sample bill showing Customer Id.
    2) User Id: User Id should contain atleast one alphabet and atleast one digit, should be minimun of 5 characters and maximun of 30 characters. Special characters other than underscore(_),dot(.),hyphen(-),at(@) are not allowed.
    In case the User Id entered is already selected by another customer, then a message would be displayed to enter another user Id.
    3) Password: Choose a strong password having a minimum length of 8 characters.Password should have at least one alphabet and at least one digit.
    4) Challenge Question: Enter a challenge question to be used in case you forget your password.
    5) Answer to Challenge Question: Enter the answer to the challenge question.
    6) Email: Enter valid email address which is used by us for further contact and correspondence.
    7) Do you have Broadband: Select Y if you have broadband otherwise select N.
    8) BB User Id: If you select Do you have broadband value as Y then you need to provide your Bradband user id.
    1.
    Hope your location is included in selfcare.sdc web site.
    If still problem contact JTO (BB) of your Exchange.
    ( or may be, earlier if you had a 14 digit portal ID try that. )

    You will find NetWorx application from softperfect.com useful
    to keep track of your usage ,on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
    Provision is also made to disable metering 02AM to 08AM if not needed.

    You can check your usage with applications not dependent on BSNL Usage portal.
    Of course usage shown/ recorded by bsnl portal is final.

    @ essbebe! I am facing the same problem as inquisitive. In my my case also data.bsnl.in is not working. Whent I tried to register in the new portal, I enterd my BB user id (Both portal and login, alternately) but I got the same result as inquisitive. Then I selected the option that I am having no broadband connection and registered one month ago and then in the registration confirmation page I found that custo-care (1500) will call me for verification. But when after 15 days, no phone calls from BSNL side I called them and tell them to veryfy and allow me to access the portal. They (BSNL) told me that They have nothing to do with this. I have to call the switch room of our local NIB node. Then I called the local NIB they inform me about my current usage and also told me that no further information is available with them and also they suggest me that I should call SDE Broadband. I called him and told him the facts. He told me that Upgradation is going on and I should wait till today afternoon & again call him. Till now I am testing and it is not working. I am planing to call him Monday. The next details will be updated.

    So I thing in case of inquisitive, his user id may not updated to the new portal yet & he should wait or he may contact with the local authority.

    For modem it is usually admin admin

    To verify Usage details etc.

    I understand that CustomerID/Unique ID is printed on Bill.
    I found it on bill, but when I enter it in my area's selfcare portal, it always saus that its invalid ID.
    I'm from NIB I i.e. my IP address starts from 59.xx.xx.xx

    What should I do???
    Am I not eligible fo any selfcare portal?
    Cant I even apply for Plan change online?
    Please clearify

    A few other users also reported the same problem. They made calls to the customer care from where they got their ID and password. No other way out.

    Also in the Udaan site, you need not log in. Simply click the link named

    Register for New Land Line....

    Presume you are using a bandwidth meter to keep an eye on your usages. If not, get one from Shaplus or Networx.

    If more than 10 digits are seen try the last 10 digits.

    I just typed only SSA and State as Chennai.
    I was redirected to billchn.bsnl.co.in which I already use
    Online telephone payments , bill details etc.
    Broadband usage as usual at data.bsnl.in

    Check in main Bsnl web site for your State.
    check menu items about telephone bill etc . or customer care.
    4.
    Menu items about plan details , usage/password change etc
    should be available in your usage portal for 59.xx.xx.xx. confirm.

    PS:
    WebdynPro does not work in all versions of IE. you have to select Compatibility view ( Mine IE9. same problem in FireFox latest. )

    Default Not able to check the usage in BSNL Portal now

    I was using "data.bsnl.in/wps/portal" so far to check the usage for more than one year.

    But i am not able to do for last one month. I am not seeing the link once i log in to the site (i can see other link like change password etc).

    Any idea about that.

    I have changed to new plan effective from March 2011. Will that be a reason?

    Nice post any update on which portal is working now i used to check in http://data.bsnl.in/ this site but its not working now ;( for last month i incurred excess of Rs.18/ for BB Charges so wanted to confirm whether really i have exceeded limit or not any help appreciated

    Kind of figured out what was my issue. I am having two user id and password for the portal and only one is showing the usage details...

    Presume for the usage portal at data.bsnl.in
    Presume problem specified in Post No 37 o 32 solved.
    Confirm how you got two sets for usage portal access from BSNL ?

    To know the Broadband usage the customer has to send SMS in the following format,

    ---To 52295 from BSNL mobile

    BROADBAND USAGE ALERT THROUGH SMS
    To get alert when Broadband usage exceeds monthly limit the customer has to send SMS in the following format

    REG<space>044<telephone number>
    ---To 52295 from BSNL mobile
    ---To 9448077777 from other mobile

    Seems SMS is working.
    Now your complaint: wrong usage data.
    How do you reach this conclusion ?
    Probably you got the Total summary Data usage.
    From this deduct your Plan free data d/l say 1.5GB 2.5 GB etc.

    If you are in TamilNadu Circle ( Not Chennai circle )
    register at CRM
    with your own ID. Password will be sent by email to you by BSNL.
    Then you can check Unbilled data for June date wise.

    3.
    Download NetworX application and keep track of your usage for a single system. ( daily/weekly/monthly/ Night usage etc )

    i am using shaplus dataone tool for checking it works fine for me. I say sms option shows faulty report, that's all.

    .Better to check usage at selfcare portal,
    if you use multiple systems, or in wifi mode
    extra laptop or VOIP mode .

    Shaplus NetworX usually used for a single system.
    Also you can check difference in readings if any with BSNL meters.
    BSNL Usage Portal readings are FINAL>

    Please note data.bsnl.in is not termed as selfcare portal.

    Another selfcare portal http://selfcare.ndc.bsnl.co.in also available..

    It appears BSNl is shifting users with IP 59.xx.xx.xx gradually to different selfcare portals.

    One user from Bengaluru has reported that he could check usage
    both at data.bsnl.in and selfcare.sdc.bsnl.co.in
    If you have old 14 digit ID and PW can try.
