    The Netgear dg834g used to be popular for better and stable ADSL connectivity. But, the present version of dg834g v5, which is available in the market has low quality hardware, and many connectivity issues(I am tired of using it). I used to have dg834 v4, which is known for excellent ADSL connectivity. But it used reboot frequently even if there was small voltage fluctuation. If you live in rural area you should not go for it. If you live not far from telephone exchange you could buy Linksys products. If you live far away from telephone exchange, and if you are sure you have stable power supply above 225 V, you can go for Netgear dg834g v4. Another issue is dg834g v4 isn't good for bittorent. But, there is custom firmware from dgteam which improves bittorrent performance.

    WRT54G and WRT120N are not broadband routers. They don't have a port to connect your telephone cable.

    You can try if Netgear dg834gt is available. It has Super G wireless (108 Mbps), double speed than G devices. It's little costly around Rs. 5 k. Refer this link DG834GT - Netgear

    @ Gaurav

    You can go for a BELKIN N+ Router(F5D8235-4). It costs around Rs 4.5k.

    I have recently purchased this router to connect my ADSL modem. Range is very good. Easily covers my first floor and ground floor with 'Excellent' to 'Very Good' signal strength. Speed varies from 54Mbps to 48 Mbps.

    Else you can go for;

    NETGEAR WNR834G costs around Rs 5.5k
    NETGEAR WNR2000 costs around Rs 3.5k (within ur budget)
    LINKSYS WRT120N costs around Rs 2.8k (within ur budget)

    Go for Buffalo, Belkin or Linksys Wireless N routers. Your budget is sufficient to accomodate your requirement.
