Thread: Dataone bonus speed to continue??

recently BSNL doubled speed of all plans of dataone, except few, for a month, which will end in a few days. it was a welcome step, by there are rumors that BSNL will extend the double speed because there is fierce competition from other broadband providers. how much truth is in it??? till now BSNL website has no such notification, and the speeds are scheduled to be reduced back on 30 april... was this some april fools joke with BSNL subscribers... 1 month double speed,,, then back to low speed..

Rumours are ripe that the escalated speed will stay. But no confirmation till now. BSNL may increase but may take some time.

My speed is back to normal. Not sure if it's BSNL or the underwater sea cable problem

hope bsnl is not playing the SEA-MR-WE cable cut card too much...

In most small towns BSNL has Broadband monopoly . So they dont care about plans and customer service.

Now I am experiencing only slow surfing and slow direct downloads which I am solving with Flashget but the I am downloading torrents with full speed.

im using home ul 1350+. my speed also came back to normal that is 512kbps.

I am sorry to give the bad news, but on 30th BSNL will definitely stop this speed hike. I got this info after talking with the BSNL divisional engineer. The speed increase was just part of a product ad. No, hope of permanent increase in speed.
@triad, Gaggan, Madhanacdc : The speed has not gone down. it is just due to the underwater sea cable repair. I am using UL 750 and am able to download torents around 40-45 kbps which is definitely higher than UL 750's default speed.

In surfing its not full but acceptable.in torrents its full.

but any how it is a good scheme

Users have IP address with 117 in some state the speed was restore in 20th april and users have with 59 the speed was restore in 24th April and it's in all state.

Double speed ends on April 30 th. You will now get the normal speed of your plan.

Really Man!!! They first let the tiger taste lamb and then offering soya beans? No 1MBPS UL plan, just some crappy plan with data cap? Unbelievable! Geezz... now I've to pay 3k pm. to get good speed what I've enjoyed for one month? That's too bad. BSNL is pathetic!

Even before April 30, my speed was back to 256 kbps, just after that IPL final !

The speed has come back to normal,so no rumours.
