    1.
When you use "Dialer" The modem is set on "Bridged" mode. All Ports are open.
You enter UserID/PW externally to the modem
    2.
When you select PPP/PPPoE in WAN page and enter your ID and password and select "Always On" you can access Advanced Options for Virtual servers / applications etc Port Forwarding/blocking specific applications.

    3
usually , users here prefer "Dialer" mode, to use scheduler/s to switch off switch on the modem in the night for Nu free download.

    4
Try "Bridged"or " PPP/PPPoE" in search Box above for older threads.

REFERENCE : for Teracom model similar menu pages. ( less wifi ) SEE MAIN MENU. ( IGNORE FIRMWARE UPDATE )

Beyond my scope. Question too technical. Can get the answer but of No interest to many users here. Not worth the trouble.
    One opinion:
Nothing big diffrence, Only you dont need to port forward the torrent client
or any application which is need to connect from the other client from the Internet.
All ports are open to your computer because you are not in behind the NAT in bridge mode.
And your computer is detactable from the Internet
if you not using the Firewall.
