    Default elp Pls-Frequent Disconnection

    Hello Guys,

I post here after having contacted the bsnl customer care and not surprisingly them not having helped me much.

So straight down to the problem.
I bought a new Landline Phone about 6 months ago. Before that I don't remember having any major problems in either the Landline or the The Broadband.

Ever since I bpught this Phone,My Telephone and Modem have been interfering too much as in
1.Whenever I lift the reciever to answer/make a call the Modem gets turned off and turned on again

2.If Modem is on,there is a bad hissing noise in the telephone

I did not report this to BSNL cos i thought it was due to the phone and not a problem of Bsnl

I went about googling and I found that There should be no parallel line before the splitter. There isn't

However In another room, there is another landline phone with a totally different number. As in they are two different lines. Will this cause interference?[It did not before my new phone was bought]

But I did not Mind Much about this, cos I hardly make any calls from the landline and it was more of a luxury and less of a necesity .Every once in a while when I pick it up,BB would disconnect and I would get on with it.

However the real Issue about which I am posting started exactly 2 days ago.
My Internet disconnects very frequently.Like every 15 mins. This is esp true During the nights,But not exclusive to the nights

Its impossible to browse,My adsl[Link] Liht goes off and it mostly doesn't come back again or it comes back to green and beore it becomes orange it goes off again.

I have checked my splitter and other ports for bad connections but haven't found any!

I was supposed to have an important conference last night via my internet and This screwed it.luckily due to Unforeseen circumstances[to some one else] it has been rescheduled tonight.
And my fears are ,that today it would be me with Unforeseen[or In my case foreseen] circumstances

A bit of googling got me some info about bell wire, should I try removing the bell wire?
My modem is SmartAX MT 882
i have attached a Pic of My attenuation and SNR values, which seem decent .
    i42.tinypic.com/qsmbo0.jpg
forum doesn't allow me to post pics
    need your help pals

P.S:My net disconnected twice while i tried to key this in and post this thread

    1. Have you connected the telephone after the splitter?

post here as ( no spaces etc )
    i42.tinypic.com/qsmbo0.jpg
    if you can,
change the DNS in modem to 8.8.8.8 and 208.67.220.220
    also in TCP/Ip properties page.
Mod mode If selected Auto change to GDMT.
    A stable connection possible.
For any Extension PHONE in other rooms use ADDITIONAL ADSL splitters.
    Recheck snr ATTN again.
    RECHECK
In ADSL splitter BSNL Junction RJ11 cable is connected to LINE ( near adsl Port ) and PHONE to Phone Port ( single port). Sometimes the lines are wrongly connected.
"Hiss" in phone Data signal breaking through.

    Feedback.

    Thanks for the reply

The forum does not allow me to post the link without any spaces

2.It will take me a while for me to understand that whole changing the DNS thing, cos I am a noob in such scenarios and have never tried anything like that before cos I never had any problem

Also In the splitter is there a specific port for the Modem and one for telephone

i thought either could be used

NO. connect correctly to Ports marked.
Each and everyPHONE in the house ( max 3 or 4 only ) must be connected ONLY after the splitter.
Also In the splitter is there a specific port for the Modem and one for telephone
i thought either could be used
    Confirm "Hiss" disappears from Phone.
    when properly connected.

My splitter does not have it marked as phone and modem !!

the ports are marked as 626k 623k.Anyways i have tried interchanging them, hissing still persists But the internet does not dc when Phone is used

however I hope My major problem of net disconnetcing and the Link going off will be solved

p.S:Could this have something to do with the undersea cables being damaged?

some improvement ?? Recheck SNR attn data.
"Hissing"In which Phone ? connected to ADSL splitter? ( when internet connection is working )

New Landline Phone: is it Cordless type Freq ?
Anyway you will need another ADSL splitter. Take present one to computer shop and get one.
cost around rs 50 to Rs 75?/=
Bsnl type FUNJIN LINe port one side
    ModemPort PHONEport other side.
Another model ; adsl line ports one side
    ...( UT300f Black).........Phone other side.

.IF IT WORKS DON'T REPAIR !
The hissing is in the one connected to Adsl splitter
. feedback after trying new Splitter.
still you can recheck the connection to ports as given by me.

In summary page the mod selected is also shown.
    Dont change anything now.

    Check speed here:
My Broadband Speed - Broadband Speed Tester

    inside adsl splitter.

See if you connect RJ11 from BSNl Junction to right side, then for BOTH telephone and Modem the filter circuit comes in action, degrading Data signal
Bsnl Jn rj11 left side . if you connect Modem after Filter problem ! data signals almost blocked
    etc.
