Thread: ULF 1100. Speed stuck at 256 Kbps

I opted ULF 1100. I got 2 Mbps speed last month. After 10 GB limit is over, I am getting 256 Kbps. But the issue is, it is not going back to 2 Mbps. It is 12: 54 AM now. I restarted the modem twice. Still I am getting only 256 Kbps. Anybody having this problem ? If you have any solution, please post.

Hey, this is indeed a strange problem. One of my friends has shifted to this plan from today itself. They shifted him from the P2 to the MP portal. He is getting 2 mbps, I'll keep you posted on what happens once 10GB is reached.

However, the real issue will surface only next month, when a new quota of 10GB@2mbps should ideally be allotted.

The problem you're facing is really irritating -- the only thing I can suggest is talk directly to the NIB engineers in your area, and not the BSNL office guys.

In my friend's case, they had not informed him about the need to migrate to MP server, and his application was thus delayed by one month. He had to first apply for server upgradation, and then his plan was changed. And the only people who really provided good quality advice were the NIB engineers....

Not sure if same in India, but in the UK turning off the router for 15 mins, causes the DSL line to go into sleepmode, so when it gets replugged in, then this resets the PVC and this cleans out the QoS rule that had been slowing it down.

Not seen this work in NZ, and I am sure we use different kit here anyway..

A few people here are on this or similar flexi plans. Just wanted to provide some info (based on my friend's experience):

1. After the quota was reached, he was moved from the 117.x.x network to the 59.x.x network automatically, without even being disconnected. Speed instantly decreased to 256kbps... smooth transition
   
2. He had already downloaded about 11GB (limit is 10GB) by then (seems like the switch is done manually)
   
3. This transition has caused no changes to the DSL stats (SNR, attenuation, sync rate etc.). I expected them to change.
   
4. Whether speed locks at 256kbps or not, will post that soon after month end

I am also facing the same issue, I have changed my plan this month from ULF 750 to ULF 1100 and I am getting only 25 to 30 kbps download speed, Please suggest. I stay in bangalore

Go to data.bsnl.in, under postpaid orders, enter the telephone no in the prescribed format and hit " search order ". Post the screen shot after blackening personal details.

When did you changed the plan ? If not on first of month, you will not get full 10 GB.
