Default Waive off Monthly Modem rent of UL 750 and above

    Hi all,

I took BSNL UL 750 connection with rental modem optio and i am getting charged for rs. 80 / month as fixed charge for modem. As per the BSNL circular, the fixed monthly rent for the modem should be waived off for all Home and Business Plans of Rs.750/- and above. In Kerala this rule is effective where the fixed monthly rent for the modem is getting waived off( My friend is working in BSNL Broadband section). I queried this with the commercial officer in Bangalore and he is telling that this rule is not applicable in Bangalore. Are there any separated rules for BSNL in Kerala and other states? I have attached the BSNL circular which i have got from the Kerala BSNL AO where the UL 750 and above users does not have fixed monthly charge for the modem.

If somebody can help me, we together can go ahead and fight against some of the BSNL officers who are closing their eyes in this rule thereby taking money from the customers.

    Regards,
    Vishnudas

    2. In addition to above, it has been decided to waive off the FMC for
modem for all Home a nd Business Plans of Rs.750/- and above provided, at
the time of surrender of connection, the modem is returnable in working
condition failing which the above Sale Price will be recovered, if connection
has not worked for a minimum period of 12 months
    Interpretation
Appears this is applicable ONLY when you had paidFMC for full year , and you surrender the connection within a year. Modem in working condition.

Also you have to make security deposit for Modem for Home 750 plan .

But thats not the case in Kerala where my cousin has the same connection and he did not pay anything at the beginning where he is being waived off the FMC charge for modem. AO from kerala BSNL Office has also said the same and did give this circular to me. When i asked the commercial officer, it is not applicable here, why?

May be In Kerala BSNL staff interpret rules according to their own.
My friend is working in BSNL Broadband section
    (a) you say Your cousin did not pay anything for modem Home 750 plan Fine
    (b) He was not debited Security deposit for the modem. Fine.
    (c) Take photo copy of his first bill and present bill and you also claim RENT FREE modem.
    in Bengaluru.

If you want to take it up at higher levels send an ONLINE complaint to ( quote this circular and quote your cousin's Telephone number also )
    wait......

My cousin paid 500 Rs security deposit for modem along with Rs. 750 security deposit for Broadband( So total 1250 rs Security Deposit) like me for the first time. Other than that there is no FMC for modem where as I am having the FMC for modem here of 80 Rs. Thats where my doubt is lying and i queried the same with the AO where he said there is no Monthly rent for UL 750 and above. I can get the bill from my cousin and check it.

Talk to the appellate authority or nodal officer in Bangalore. You can find the phone no and address on the backside of any Bangalore circle BSNL billl. Or just call customer care as ask for their no.
